Chapter 19: The Second Ritual Site
With the morning sun barely touching the treetops, the Severance Team gathered at the edge of New Haven, their faces set with determination. After their success with the first site, Akari's research had led them to another suspected ritual site, this one even deeper into the forest and more fortified than the last. Tensions were high, and each member of the team was keenly aware that this mission would demand more caution and precision than ever.
Akari spread a hand-drawn map on the forest floor, marking out the estimated location of the site. She traced a finger along the path they would take. "We'll have to follow the river for about a mile to stay concealed. The ritual site is set in a valley surrounded by dense forest. According to the markings, there's an old ruin there that's been twisted into a stronghold for these dark rituals."
