( Part 5: Z-City - 01:10 Am )

Appearing in yet another tall building with big neon letters in its front, Yukari noticed by the side of the street a few signs indicating she was still inside Z-City but had exited the section considered New Eridu.

Slowly drawing herself closer to the edge, she glanced down towards what she had somehow felt from the subway before.

Another one of those Antman monsters, this time a black one twice the size of the one she had sliced to pieces earlier, the difference being this one had arms that she would describe as 'hulk sized' given how muscular they looked to be.

It was hissing and smacking any vehicles that were parked along the streets it landed its eyes on, sending them flying left and right. Some were even getting tossed so hard they got stuck inside the stores, or simply rocketed flying at the cops who would show up trying to shoot at the monster.

Which as expected didn't do much, all bullets would bounce away upon hitting the ant's body.

Though these cops wore some weird, different gear from what Yukari was used to seeing in her last life.

They wore mostly blue gear, something the Youkai tilted her head in confusion. She felt like she had seen such a style of clothing somewhere before, and that suspicion was further added when a female officer ran across the big ant wearing an extremely tight-looking outfit…

Fast to slide under the monster's legs, making sure to unload a full mag of her handgun in all its joints in an attempt to at least cause some damage or slow it down. Again, a useless attempt as nothing more than scratches were left behind.

She was extremely fast for a human, and her movements were way too smooth as she took off running after the slide, quickly dodging a car that the ant tossed directly at her by performing a Dark Souls-style kind of front roll.

Closing her fan, Yukari's face showed a very amused expression. She was more interested in seeing if this woman could take down such a large monster, and so the Youkai started looking around for something that would improve her comfort quality to be able to continue watching.

But before searching further, she took her time, this time to be taking in the woman's appearance; Medium length Black hair with red stripes tied in a high ponytail and a big handcuff-like headband.

For her clothing, she wore a blue jacket with 'PubSec' written on the front of it, coupled with a skin-tight black suit with green details and a handle on the back…. Yukari raised an eyebrow at such… Convenient, handle bar.

' I have a feeling I am familiar with her…. What was her name again, Yu Yun? Shu Yuan?.... It would appear I never stopped to give a good look at her name… '

Leaving the Youkai to ponder that even with her absurd new brain power upgrade she couldn't remember the cop, the woman herself was doing her best to evacuate the perimeter and fight off the humongous monster.

" You all! Evacuate now! This has exceeded your capabilities, it's a High-Ranked Tiger Tier Monster, maybe even a Low Demon Tier. If I'm not enough, rest assured the Hero Association will soon dislocate a qualified Hero to deal with the threat! "

Sliding under a car that was punched her way gracefully, she soon springs back up already having reloaded her handgun, also being quick to take aim.

Before doing so, she quickly pulls an attachment from God knows where and slaps it onto her handgun, essentially turning it into a triple shot-type gun.

Shooting a few times from a few dozen feet away, the potency of the handgun is now noticeably increased.

But it still was not enough, seeing how the ant's body was too tough for the bullets to even break through its skin, despite leaving scratch marks.

Clicking her tongue, she is about to switch attachments when a horrendous hissing noise leaves the monstrous end. The female cop ignores it for now, finally finishing switching her attachments and standing up, ready to give yet another try.

Just to widen her eyes, as she was three or four feet away from being violently struck by a metal streetlight making its way towards her at high speeds. Yet even at such an obviously impossible-to-dodge blow, it was like time slowed down in her eyes.

She had lowered her guard, the ant was swinging with such force that she was sure that even if she tried to crouch or jump out of the way, not much would be accomplished besides her breaking a good dozen bones, if not worse from the attack's impact on her body.

Leaving her unable to work for the weeks to come.

The streetlight had a longer reach than she expected, and in a last attempt to save herself from the impact she tilted her handgun a bit downwards, the new attachment had a high enough power to push her away with its high recoil.

Even if it might injure herself in the maneuver, it was still better than trying her chances and maybe dying in such a dumb way.

All this happened in what seemed to be a blink of an eye for the human outsiders that were escaping the area. But for a certain someone who had been watching the whole thing, all she did was eat the last bit of popcorn she had grabbed from a cinema by the side of the street by using her powers.

Laying sideways on the couch she also teleported from the cinema, Yukari still was by the rooftop from when she had first arrived at the street, lying sideways on the couch with her arm supporting her head as she watched the entire fight.

And just as things were getting interesting, the ant pulled this dirty move. It annoyed her.

Although she did watch as Antman pulled the streetlight out, she thought he would just toss it, which would've given the female cop enough time to dodge like she had been doing up until now

Understanding that there was no escape for her, and she seemed to be planning something stupid. Yukari sat upright and waved her hand (which had been greasy from the popcorn's butter) towards the fighting duo.

Just as the cop was about to shoot, and the ant struck, a large gap the same size as the ant opened in the light pole's swinging path, right in front of the cop. And just as it did, another appeared right beside the monster's face.

In an instant, all that force that the light pole had was transferred to the ant's head. Yukari had made it so the monster ended up hitting its own head with such a great force it knocked all senses it had out of itself, damaging its tough head to the point where it was now full of cracks.

Taking a few steps back, the monster drops the light pole, leaving a loud metallic noise to reverberate out when it hits the ground across the otherwise silent street, seemingly confused and feeling extreme pain at what had just happened if its low hisses were anything to go by.

On the contrary, the policewoman didn't waste her chances after a quick re-evaluation of the situation. Rushing forward while using the ant's knee to propel herself up to its head's height.

Aiming her handgun that now had a revolver-like attachment. The difference was that the barrel was a lot bigger, about the size of a shotgun's barrel. - " Just begone, you monster!" - * BANG! *

Landing in a tactical roll, she breathes heavily, aiming yet again towards the now headless ant. To her joy and relief, the only movement she gets is the beast's humongous body going limp and falling backward onto the ground in a loud heavy; - * THUD! *

Sighing, she is quick to pull up a radio. - " Zhu Yuan, from the Criminal Investigation Special Response Team sector reporting. Anomaly Number six has been successfully dealt with, over."

And all she heard from the other side of the radio was an exhausted sigh, frowning as she clicked her radio button yet again. - " Jane….. I can hear you, please turn off the radio if you're not going to report anything important. Over."

All she received back was a playful humming noise. - " Hai hai, will do. "

Hearing the other party turning off their radio's receiver, the one known as Zhu Yuan shakes her head.

' It still is not over, this was just one of the reports…. They're showing up all over Z-City…. What is even happening at this point… Or better, who's behind such awful creatures… There's also the person who helped me…'

Glancing up at the roof of one of the stores, Yuan spots a couch on top of a hotel, by its side was an empty extra-large cup of popcorn.

Frowning at the strange, unknown helper who was probably watching her until she couldn't do anything. Yuan chose to leave this aside for the report they would have to write at the end of this whole situation.

The other party did save her, so she knew even though they seemingly were watching for their pure entertainment, their intentions were never to see her critically hurt.

Needless to say though, they still did see her display against the ant monster as a show which bothered the special cop greatly.

" I shall remember this, whoever you are. Z-City doesn't need Vigilantes going around and causing even more havoc around at tough times like these."

Dashing off towards where she had parked her car a few streets down from there, Yuan left the perimeter where the ant's body was located.

As she did, she ran past a familiar blonde who was twirling her umbrella, amused at what she had just heard.

Yuan seemed to notice a 'civilian' was in the area they shouldn't be and the moment she went past the blonde, she drifted on her feet and turned around worried. - " HEY YOU- WHA- Huh? Hmm…. Where did she go?"

All that she was met was the view of an empty sidewalk, scratching her head while tilting her head bearing an innocent dumb face, she shrugged thinking it must've been her head playing tricks on her.

And so she returned running towards her car, not noticing the same blonde now above one of the rooftops, hiding her amused grin using the folding fan she always held onto.

" Such a fascinating little cop to watch, she's not exactly a one-to-one copy personality-wise like the one in my memory, but her ideals seem to be the same. Huh~

But she did give me an interesting piece of information, these bugs that I've been finding are appearing everywhere across this city, hmm….. " - Stopping her hand waving, Yukari folded the fan she had been moving around and smiled widely.

Her violet eyes now glowing with an idea she just had. - " I suppose it's time for some pest control~ "
