I looked in that direction. Derek opened the door,
rushed over, and hugged me in his arms. Honestly, I didn’t feel bad being
blamed by Emma and questioned by Carl. I didn’t worry about the meeting and the
vote at all. But the moment he held me in his arms, I felt bitter and had the
urge to cry.
