He Lixue went to the floor of the IT Security Department and found her seat. She noticed that everyone was looking at her with a mixture of interest and curiosity, but she was not sure why this was so.

Whispers could be heard all around the department, and He Lixue had an excellent hearing and could hear certain voices mentioning, 'Madam President', "CEO Lu's lover', 'Miss Lin's rival', and 'Madam Lin'. 

From this, it was clear that what they were discussing was her, Lu Nanfeng, their relationship, and the two annoying flies who tried to interfere with them.

Manager Mo came out from his office, and at this point, everyone turned silent. They knew that Manager Mo respected CEO Lu more than anyone else. To gossip about their boss in front of Manager Mo was the same as asking for a beating. 

But Manager Mo did not seem to notice the many people and their gossip. He had a strange expression on his face, as he went to He Lixue's side. 

"Lixue," he called out as he saw that she was seated at her desk, about to turn on the computer and start working.

Hearing that he was calling out to her, He Lixue stopped in her tracks and lifted her head to look at Manager Mo with a quizzical expression on her face. 

"Miss Lin and Madam Lu have come to the company," he said, observing her expression trying to see her emotions. "It seems that they cannot get a hold of CEO Lu otherwise, so they decided to enter the company. I am a little worried about CEO Lu, why don't you go up and see if you can help him somehow?" 

Manager Mo had known about their relationship from the very beginning. Although they had not publicly admitted their relationship back then, he could sense the goodwill the two felt for one another and knew that it was merely a matter of time before they would end together.

He respected CEO Lu greatly, and He Lixue was also someone he looked up to. Since this was the case, why not wish for them to be together? At least He Lixue was many times better than Lin Xulian, so when he heard that they were here, he was going to help Lu Nanfeng and He Lixue strengthen their relationship. 

He Lixue was first stunned when she heard Manager Mo's words, but then a flashing light passed through her eyes. 

She did not blame Lu Nanfeng for meeting up with another woman, but he was now her man. Although he could have friendly relations with other women, he could not be ambiguous. She had to check on this matter herself.

Nodding to Manager Mo, He Lixue grabbed her bag again, left the office, headed towards the elevator, and went to the top floor where Lu Nanfeng's office was located.

She looked as if she was contemplating; her brows were slightly furrowed, and her eyes were deep, and it was impossible to see what she was thinking.

He Lixue reached the top floor and stepped out of the elevator, heading towards the office. 

She noticed that all the secretaries were looking at her with interest. Clearly, they were interested in knowing whether or not He Lixue was more important to Lu Nanfeng than Lin Xulian.

Everyone knew that Lu Nanfeng and Lin Xulian grew up together. They knew each other for many years and had even dated before. Although they had broken up for unknown reasons, at least in the public's eyes, Lin Xulian still had the backing of Madam Lu. 

Lu Nanfeng was spoiling and pampering He Lixue, but was this a passing interest, or did he genuinely like her? She was so pretty that any man would find her attractive and would want to play with her, but was Lu Nanfeng actually considering her to be his life partner, or was Lin Xulian still more suitable? 

He Lixue noticed that everyone was looking at her as if they were looking at a play. She did not mind though, she had complete faith in Lu Nanfeng, but she was still curious about what that shameless Lin Xulian was doing, not to mention what his mother was planning with bringing her to the office openly when he already had a girlfriend.

He Lixue went to the door, and no one stopped her this time. She placed her hand on the door handle and gently twisted it, before pulling the door out. 

She looked into the office and was quite surprised to find that it was silent, but the atmosphere was so oppressive that one could almost cut it with a knife.

As she looked inside, the ones inside noticed that the door had opened and looked towards her.

He Lixue smiled sweetly, entered the office, and closed the door behind her. 

The secretaries sighed in regret, why did she not leave the door open so that they could hear what was going on? 

He Lixue did not care about the secretaries and went towards Lu Nanfeng. She completely ignored the two other people in the room, and her actions caused Madam Lu and Lin Xulian to frown. 

Lu Nanfeng, on the other hand, was clearly happy to see her, and he pushed his chair a bit back, patted his lap, and looked at her expectantly. The oppressive atmosphere instantly turned soft and warm. 

He Lixue smiled, and without caring about his mother or ex-girlfriend, she went to his side and sat down on his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck and planting a gentle peck on his cheek.

The familiarity with which she was moving made it seem as if she had done the act multiple times, causing the faces of the two observers to turn dark like the bottom of a pot.
