"Granny! I'm going out. I'll be home as soon as possible, ok? Please don't wait for me. Just go to sleep in case I'm home late." Selene hastily grabbed her purse, posed on her desk and walked out of her bedroom.
Gianna sighed and nodded. She couldn't say no, because she knew Luke was coming home today. He should run out of money by tonight or tomorrow night. However, expecting it to happen sooner is better than Selene being present in the house in his presence.
Selene suddenly started rebelling against Luke last year and it continued each time they would come across each other. Gianna ignored the cause of which she carried such a deep hatred for her father compared to before as if fuel was added to her hatred.
Luke was not the perfect father, nor a good father either. He was a greedy man. He failed to become a good son, let alone a good father.

Selene got off the bus at her designated bus stop. She wasn't paying much attention in front of her while walking. She was lost in her thoughts and excitement. She couldn't think about anything apart from all the steps she needed to recheck and practice for her dance.
She bumped into someone and fell on the sidewalk.
"Ah!" She groaned in pain.
"Can't you see properly?!"
A familiar voice yelled at her.
Selene looked up and frowned. It was Samuel, Lysana's brother!
She quickly stood up and waved the dirt off her pants.
"Can't you see where you are walking?!" She questioned him back.
"My phone!" Samuel hastily bent down to pick up his phone that fell on the ground. "You broke my phone!"
"I didn't! You can't just blame me like this!"
"Know, what? Forget it, I don't have time to deal with you." He turned away from her, walking away.
"Wha-! You don't just blame people for something and walk off like that!" She shouted, chasing after him
"I have better things to do than argue with some backwards girl. Now leave me alone," he stated without turning back to face her.
Selene wasn't sure what made her angrier. The fact that he blamed her and left, or that he wouldn't even look towards her, let alone make eye contact with her.
It was like she was an insignificant pest to him. She carried on chasing after him, hoping to get an apology but as she was catching up, he turned a corner. When she took the same corner he was nowhere to be found.
"How?" Selene was perplexed. It was like he had vanished into thin air!
"I swear when I catch that guy!" Selene fumed storming off the way she came.
"Finally, she's gone." Samuel was watching her from a tree he jumped into to escape away from her. He couldn't have her tagging along as he was tailing someone and she stood out like a sore thumb.
He jumped down silently and then checked his surroundings. The man he was looking for was the only lead that he had on the gang that he was after.
David Travis also known as Target. He was an assassin that specialized in throwing knives laced with poison. He was known to do the cleaning up after the gang carried out one of their missions.
Samuel needed to find him in order to catch the gang red-handed.
A devilish smirk lighted up his dark face when his gaze fell on the footwear on the street.
He followed them, using what he was taught by his instructors while he was away to hurry up yet not make it too evident to the people who were living their normal lives.
The gang he was chasing was quite a mysterious one among the ones he had to deal with before. It was called "lives". It took Samuel's men a few months to discover details about them. Every time they had a lead they disappeared without a trace. Each hostage vanished without a trace. This was the first time they found someone who actually worked for the gang.
They meet people under the pretext to help them with organ donation. They always met up at different locations making it hard for them to be tracked. The victims would be taken to the location by members of the gang after confirming that they were good enough targets. Thereafter they would meet up at various different locations. Be it restaurants, cafes or even clinics!
Samuel didn't know who owned it nor its purpose but for sure they were extremely vigilant. No details of Target's whereabouts were clear until yesterday night. One of Samuel's men found a secret base where suspicious things were happening.
Whenever the vehicle carrying the victims would come to that place to meet with the so-called doctors, they wouldn't get out. It didn't happen for men or women only, children were included.
A middle-aged man fitting Target's description was discussing the meeting with today's victims with the "doctor". The doctor was an average-looking young man who stood in a white coat in front of Target.
"Meet them at the Blue Room at 7:00 pm. Not a single second late. Otherwise… you know what will happen, right? Just like…" Target whispered something with a smirk on his lips. His eyes glowed red in the dark although his eyes were light brown a few seconds earlier.
Samuel failed to hear because of the distance between him and them. However, he was shocked by the way Target's eye colour changed.
He quickly rubbed his eyes to make sure he wasn't seeing things. Target's eye colour was brown again, which left Samuel confused.
As soon as the doctor heard the name, his eyes widened. He broke out in cold sweats. He looked scared, petrified, horrified.
"Then take them to the Green OT to carry out the surgery they are eagerly waiting for. Although, we are the ones more excited for it to happen."
Bending down to tie his shoelaces, Samuel quickly memorized the layout of the area.
From the number of windows on each building on the block, all the way down to the approximate time each shop worker dealt with their clients.
There were going to be no mishaps on this mission. After all, he was trained by his grandfather, who was known to be invincible and who was once his mother's instructor.
"Showtime!" He said to himself as he gazed at his watch. Then, he looked up from his watch as he headed to the Blue Dinner.
Just as Samuel was going to step out of hiding place, his earpiece buzzed, notifying him. He quickly took out his phone. One of his men had called him. He thought for a second if he could pick up the call or ignore it. What if it was something that could help him? He answered the call.
"Sir, you have enough experience yet!" The man through the earpiece exclaimed. "You're alone right now. We don't know how many people are involved in this matter. You can't fight them alone."
"Are you underestimating me?" Samuel asked in a cold tone.
"No! I would never… However, your safety is of utmost importance…"
"Alright. I'll head out of here for now. But I want all the details, Ling."
"As you wish sire."
Samuel hung up as he looked around him.
His gaze fell upon the few children that were sitting on the chair and waiting for their turn.
He wanted to help them, but it wasn't because he wanted to be a good person or a saviour and such. He merely felt pity for them.
They were being fooled by these people only because they accepted to "treat" their illness with a little amount of money. They ignored that this organization was only doing this for their own gains, which Samuel didn't know yet. But he was sure their intentions were not pure but purely evil.
It takes me a long time to write each chapter because I really want to give ya'll the best possible mostly when it's my first time writing something with actions, etc. I don't want to rush and write some nonsense. Hope ya'll understand.
