He was the prince.

Maya was on her way to the maiden's bedchambers at the queen's quarter that she used to stay . She needed to get her things because she was moving to the prince's quarter since she was no longer a maid serving under the queen.

She entered the room and went straight to her bed where she kept her belongings , there were few things just a bag with her underlings and some few blankets for keeping her warm during cold nights.

She gathered her things and she was ready to get out of the room but when she turned behind , she met the angry eyes of her fellow maids that she used to work with. They were looking at her very badly , she probably knew the reason for their angry stares , they got jealousy over her . They thought she got lucky after being chosen among those who were required to serve under the prince whom they assumed he must be handsome and attractive that they were impatiently waiting to meet him maybe he could fell for them and make them be his future wives.

At the moment they thought of serving under the royal family for the rest of their lives , she was thinking of living her own life outside of the palace.

she sadly shook her heard after understanding their thoughts , she ignored their fury stares and walked out of the room.

She was assigned to prepare the bed for the prince tonight so she hurried back to the prince's quarter before the prince gets back to his chamber .

After getting back , she hurried inside of the prince's bedroom , she prepared the bed to the way she prefers. She also kept other things in order and after that she sprayed the room with a very beautiful smelled perfume and walked out of the room after finishing her job .

Around the corner of the corridor which separates the doors leading to the prince's bedroom and maidens chambers , she saw a man approaching faster with louder echoing footsteps with two men following him behind , she failed to see their faces because it was really dark at night with few fire torches kept around the corridor . She stood aside to let them pass and after that she continued to walk on her way . She didn't know the man walked in front of the two men was the prince.

Princess Adrianne was resting in her chamber sipping a red wine from her glass while some maids were preparing her to go to bed . She looked at herself in the mirror indeed she was beautiful like an angel with her blond hair which perfectly match with her blue colored off-shoulderdress .

She suddenly became angry , she threw a wine glass away . The maidens startled by her movement . They thought maybe they were the ones who made her angry . Some stood still while others hurrying to clean the scattered glasses on the floor.

"Leave me alone " she shouted .

They didn't want her rage to swallow them . They fastly walked out of the room.

After the maids left the room , she started crying , she was so upset with herself. She was angry because since the prince arrived , he was ignoring her like she never existed. Even though she looks beautiful and she tried to look even more beautiful today but he didn't even try to look at her way .

It really pained her down to see the prince didn't even want to talk with her despite the relationship that they used to have when they were young .

Princess Adrianne is the daughter of the late king Frederick of monocot kingdom who died twenty three years ago due to an illness . After king Frederick die , his younger brother prospectus took after the throne .

He bonded ties with Queen Melissa who was the consort of the late king .

They set the rules that the king is not allowed to share the same bed with the queen and he is allowed to have other women as long as she stays as the queen since their marriage was out of contract.

Their union was only set because of desire for power. Melissa had a baby Adrianne of few months when she becomes a queen . There is a rumour that she betrayed her husband and decided to join hands with the king's brother because she was greedy to become a queen .

Prince Asa was a king prospectus child who was born in the middle of contradiction between the royal family . King Frederick despised his brother so much because he thought one day his brother prospectus might be able to betray him .

In order for him to feel not being betrayed , he ordered for his brother's death , but his brother got the information earlier and flew away before his brother caught him . Later after the followed months king Frederick started to get ill and die then his brother prospectus came back with his family and take the throne after his brother .

Princess Adrianne used to play with prince Asa when they were both young but after Sophia - the prince's mother tragic death which also caused the prince to leave the palace , they weren't closer anymore . Prince Asa doesn't even care about her anymore .

She felt her heart was about to explode. She wanted to calm down herself . She drank the whole bottle of wine before she goes to bed.

Maya was about to sleep when she remembered the soldier who gave her a handkerchief . She thought about it and decided not to follow his words that he told her . What was he intending to do with her and what favor he was asking from her ?.

She will know if she had to agree with him but she was afraid of him trying getting her into business she doesn't even know. She decided not to go again by the altar to meet him and prepared herself to deny the accusations that he will try to bring to her.

Who will know if he was speaking the truth or not so it will be easier to deny him with no evidence or witness and the handkerchief that he gave her , she will think of a way to destroy it tomorrow.

She knew what she did was a punishable mistake but if she tried her best to run away again she had to come with a better plan.

Asa sprang his legs out of his bed , he strolled inside his room before he decided to take a bath. He entered the bathroom after dismissing all the maids who were assigned to help him bath . He was against the protocols of the palace but he doesn't care.

After taking the bath , he wore his royal blue suit that was prepared just yesterday . It was so majestic and he didn't like it to his style but those were the clothes that were prepared for him , a royal prince .

He urged his bodyguards who were waiting outside the door to enter. Zayn was the first to stroll inside , his face painted a wide smile when he observed the shinny prince in front of him . He was looking stunningly in a royal blue suit but one thing is lacking to his glory and It was a hair style .

Zayn hurried to the dressing table and took the comb to design his hair beautifully. He started combing his hair backwards and then making few strands of his hair in front , after that he turned the mirror to his side urging him to look at himself to see how amazingly he was looking right now.

"How can you prepare yourself without even looking at the mirror " Zayn asked surprisingly.

"Thank you for your little help Zayn but I didn't call you here for that " Asa replied coldly to Zayn's question.

"And yet it is still early in the morning for you to get started with me like that " he added.

Cosmos was only standing at the far corner of the room. He didn't utter even a single word since he came here . He was only enjoying the show from afar.

"Come closer Cosmos , I need to tell you something " Asa urged him to step closer to where he was standing.

Cosmos did so as he was told. They talked about something for awhile later cosmos strolled out of the room to fulfill the order that he was given by the prince .

Later , prince get out of the room along with Zayn on his side , they went directly to the garden where he ordered his breakfast to get prepared there .

When he got at the garden , he met cosmos with the arranged soldiers , they bowed to him and he nodded in return.

He sat on his chair , the maids hurried to bring the dishes and drinks on the table.

He observed the maids presented but he didn't see the one he was looking for. The girl he met recently and made him thinking about her since then .

He moved his attention to the soldiers whom he sent cosmos to get them . He wanted them to perform the fight in front of him.

The soldiers looked at one another before they did what they had been told.

Prince was eating his food partially while looking to the soldiers in front of him who were performing so weakly and untalented. He looked at cosmos surprisingly before he asked him , were they the strongest soldiers that he sent him to call for them. But he was surprised even more when cosmos faintly nodded to his question.

"Impossible , I can't believe the whole palace is expected to be protected by these kind of soldiers , zayn ?! "

"You're always asking me the questions , but that question was for cosmos your highness and not me " Zayn said sarcastically.

"We're not playing here Zayn . This is the palace and it needs to be safely guarded . I wanted both of you to fetch the answers for my questions before the sunset . But before you fulfill your duties I want you to bring to me general commander in chief forward and all commanders before him who are in charge of guarding the royal family " asa said harshly to them . He was serious about this issue and he wanted to solve it before things becomes terrible.

After checking each soldiers strength and stability and to his disappointment he saw a lot of weaknesses before he said anything , he got back to his chamber to rest before he thought of something to do.

I was cleaning prince's attires at the laundry room when someone scolded me that I forgot to bring the bedsheets . I strolled out of the room and walked towards the bedchamber but to my surprise I didn't find any guards at the doors . I hesitated to open the door but at last I give up and strolled inside .

I looked around the room , it seemed there where none . I walked to the bedsheets where they were kept by the maids who were responsible for cleaning the prince's bedroom this morning .

But before I approached to them I stamble on something and I fall hard on the floor. I stood up feeling dizzy and my head was hurting so badly.

I tried my best to gather up the splattered clothes on the floor and walked towards the door but before I reached to it , the door was swung open and a man entered .

I scrolled my eyes to the direction of the man . I was horrified when I found out it was a man on the horse whom I met with at the market . I recognized his face and his short black hair , his black eyes were staring at me like a wolf seeing his prey . But to my surprise he was wearing the prince's attire . Is he a prince ?!.

I failed to understand what was happening around me when I started to see darkness and feeling sleepy . I felt my body becomes heavier and the darkness completely blind me.
