"You woke up?"
— Yeah, not that long ago. I was waiting for you, but you didn't come back. Where are you?
Lily's voice still held traces of drowsiness. And it sounded like her throat was hoarse from crying out all day.
"I just stepped out front. Do you want to come down?"
— Why are you out front?
"I just thought I'd go for a walk."
— Okay. I'll be right out.
There was a halo around the moon in the winter night sky. Having forgotten about the cold, a laugh flowed out of his lips. Underneath the hazy moonlight, a shy smile formed on Ethan's face. A ripple had begun to spread out across his heart, and it wasn't from the punch that John had thrown at his face.
