On the highest mountain in the Yokai Kingdom sits a shrine that is sacred to the royal family of the Kingdom. It is here that a woman's cries of pain can be heard echoing through the halls. As the wind howls, the blizzard picks up. A young priestess stares outside watching the the white-out . Although she knows she should be helping with the delivery of the soon to be born Prince or Princess, she is mesmerized by the fierce winter storm outside. When was the last time she had seen the nature so furious.
One long cry of the woman, caused the priestess to look towards the birthing ritual room. She held her breath waiting, and released in when she heard the high pitched cry of an infant. She hurriedly moved to the room, hoping to catch a glimpse at the future of the throne. What she saw made her jaw drop, there lying next to the current Empress was a tiny pure white fox cub with nine tails. The image flickered briefly before turning into a tiny baby boy, and the Empress smiled.
"Please let the Emperor know that he has a son." Servant hurriedly moved to inform the Emperor, of course it wasn't just the fact that a son was born, but the fact that he was a nine-tailed Kitsune, which hadn't been seen in a millennium and was even though to be myth. Suddenly the sound of thunder struck and bright white light filled the room.
On the day the immaculate Kitsune is born; time starts to dwindle.
Only through a melody that touches the heart
Can the Madness be controlled.
The Madness will descend
Unification is the only hope
When the siren wails from the overwhelming heat
Madness begins to take a foothold
If Madness prevails, desperation will be the song
If it is defeated unification and total peace will finally be achieved.
These words came forth from the young priestess' mouth. Everyone stared at her with dazed looks in their eyes. Would any of them be able to remember the entire thing. As the light diminished, the Empress held her son tight to her chest, gazing at the priestess. The priestess didn't notice what had happened.
"Why are you all looking at me?"
"It seems we have a lot to do" The head priestess, an elderly woman, said. Everyone looked at the newborn prince, and could only wonder what the future would hold.
