Micheal Alpharaia
Walking out of the palace in annoyance, I stepped into my chambers, kicking my foot on the floor.
"Arghhh," I held my head tight, unable to escape the trauma. The vivid images of Alexander dancing at the ball party played in my mind.
Her groaning and tears echoed in my brain. I held my head tighter, my eyes rumbling, my feet shaky.
The ceiling of my chamber seemed to spin around me.
"I'm sorry, Alexander, for hurting you," I cried out, trying to blur her voice that echoed in my head.
My body twitched, my fingernails interchanging. The emotions were overwhelming.
"Don't do it," I tried talking to my wolf, my veins popping out of my neck, sweating profusely.
My nails interchanged, and I ripped off my clothes, jumping out of my chamber. Running with my paws faster, I headed towards the entrance, jumping over the gate.
Walking gently within the creepy place, weaving behind every block of graves, my paws finally reached Alexander's.
My eyes scanned the graveyard, lingering on Alexander' name etched in the stone
"Alexander, I have been haunted by what I did to you," I howled back to my human form, crying on my knees.
"Forgive me, yes, I'm bad," I hit myself in the chest. "Every single thing I did always brings your memory. Take me with you," I yelled, hitting the graveyard.
"Talk to me, give me a sign you have forgiven me," I yelled.
"Moon goddess, let her give me a sign if she forgives me. I can't breathe," my voice slowed down.
I sighed, feeling tired. My life was just miserable.
The guilt of the past still haunted me seeing Alexander' etched on the grave, recollecting every single time and day.
"I'm just tired of the guilt. Take me with you," I lowered my voice, weeping.
"Just give me a sign you have forgiven me, otherwise I'm going to kill myself," I said, looking around for any sharp objects. My hand touched a stone beside me.
"Give me a sign, Alex, that you have forgiven me, forgive me unborn child" I whispered, slowly lifting the stone to my head.
"It would be better if I just join you. I've tried every single day to leave and forget the past, but it just keeps getting harder. Moon goddess, thank you for all you've done," I said, tears streaming down my face.
Taking a deep breath, I dropped the stone, following my heart as I hit my head on Alex's grave.
"I'm sorry," I whimpered, hitting myself again. Blood dripped from my forehead. I sighed, hoping this would give me the peace I had always wanted.
I angrily increased the tempo, hitting my head more and more, not caring about what would happen to me.
All I wanted was to leave behind my miserable life, a life where I had murdered both my wife and unborn baby. Sobbing, I felt the tears from the sky begin to drop on my body.
At first, I didn't realize it was rain. The water kept dripping, and I lifted my head to see what was happening. The rain began to pour heavily over my body.
Thunder struck, and I opened my mouth in awe, looking at the sky. "The moon goddess has forgiven you," a lady's voice said behind me. I turned my neck to see who it was.
Her shadow walked closer, giving me a clearer vision. Her soft hand gently fell on my shoulder.
"She has answered you," she whispered in my ear. Was the rain really a good omen, telling me that my request had been accepted?
"You didn't do anything wrong, okay? You were ignorant," she added, cuddling me. I shakily lifted my hands to hug her back.
"I killed her," I sobbed out loud. "She warned me not to attack the pack, but I didn't listen." The heavy weight of my guilt poured out.
Flashback
"If you love me, don't attack the Ashwood pack," she pleaded, fear filling her eyes. I could barely understand the depth of her fear.
"Come on, stop it. Let's overthrow it, for our unborn baby," I said with a confident smile.
Flashback ended
Coming back to reality, the laughter echoed in my voice, a hollow sound that contrasted sharply with the pain in my heart.
"It was all my fault. I didn't listen, just when I thought I was having a perfect life," I continued, my voice breaking. Her soft hands gently patted my back, and I hugged her tighter as the rain began to beat down on us heavily.
"She was all I could ever dream of…"
"Shh…" Her voice interrupted, soothing and gentle. "Listen, you are not at fault. You didn't know; it was all fate," she whispered.
"You don't have to punish yourself so hard. You just need to let go of the past," her voice was calm, like a comforting balm from the heavens.
"I should have known it was her," I said, my voice fading away, more blood dripping from my forehead.
"Do you think she would be happy if you die? Leaving behind her most precious legacy, her throne? Do you think she would be happy with you?" the lady asked, her words sending a jolt of sense through my body.
That's true. If I die, Alexander would never be happy with me. "Do you understand?" her gentle voice asked, patting my back. I nodded.
She pulled away from the hug, touching my chin. Our eyes locked.
"She will always be proud of you if you safeguard her most precious jewel," her voice comforting.
I couldn't help but see her radiant eyes; it was the same girl I danced with.
"It's fine, and everything will be fine, Alpha. You helped me today; it's my turn to do the same," she added, her voice divine, sending healing waves through me, easing the guilt in my heart.
"Thank you," I whispered. "But you can never heal me."
"No, you have strived so hard, carrying this guilt. Let me help you," her voice shook, tears streaming down her face.
She seemed to feel the same pain I was feeling. "Alpha, let me be your cure," she said, hugging me tightly.
My eyes flickered, a sense of relief washing over me as I wrapped my arms around her, hugging her back.
