As promised, there it was. Along with Sasuke, Sakura and Sai, waiting for the always late Kakashi.

He had heard Sakura more than once complain that her teacher was always late, his shrill voice echoing throughout the city. Although I must admit that I had a very good ear so maybe it wasn't all because of her voice.

- Sorry for the delay, I missed ...

- We already know how that sentence ends! - Sakura yelled angrily.

- Yeah, just ... let's get going. - Sasuke said calmer as he started to walk towards the door. We all follow him.

The road was quiet at first, we walked at a brisk pace. I was calm until Sakura came to my side.

- And good? - I looked at her trying to seem indifferent. Cold as an ice sculpture. - Why don't you want to tell us where it is?

I did not say anything. She seemed angry. Kakashi leaned over to pry.

- What do you want, Naruto? - His question surprised me but I kept silent. They couldn't give me what I wanted most. Nobody could.

Seeing that she didn't say anything, Kakashi convinced Sakura to give me a little more time and they left me alone.

In a couple of days on the way to a snail's pace we reached the Forest of the Seven Tails, a sacred place where almost magical creatures lived. My home.

We stopped in a clearing.

- Here we will establish our base. - Said the teacher of the group. Sakura and Sasuke stopped to observe the place.

- I don't know why, but this place ... - The one with the pink hair began, spellbound, bathed in nostalgia.

- We've been here before. - Sasuke confirmed. They both looked at each other in surprise.

- Are you saying that just for a hunch? - They both looked at me, it was the first time I spoke on the entire trip. - How stupid you are ...

Sakura opened her mouth to say something but Kakashi stopped her. Alert.

I let out a sigh, put my backpack on the ground and walked to a nearby tree, surrounded by bushes. I held out a hand, team seven looked at me dumbfounded but their faces couldn't be compared to seeing a wolf black as night and tall as Kakashi come out of the bushes and sniff my hand.

Everyone directed their hands to their weapons, the wolf gave a soft growl.

- Save that right now. - I could feel Sakura's anger even with him back turned. The teacher gave a silent order and everyone obeyed him, tense and in a state of almost panic.

The wolf brought his muzzle close to my face and I couldn't help raising a hand to caress him.

- How have you been, old friend ...? - It was just a whisper that the wind carried away but the animal clung to my caress, allowing me to hug its snout. Nostalgia ran through me like a soft poison.

I looked behind him and saw a slightly smaller brown wolf, below her were two beautiful cubs with bright eyes, eager to get permission to come out and play with me.

I smiled at my friend and asked his forgiveness for invading his territory, we weren't going to stay long. I promised him no more than a month.

Once he gave me permission to stay, the cubs came up to me and fluttered around me playfully. I stroked their furry heads and took a look at team seven.

"Kakashi," he looked at me attentively. - We have permission to occupy their territory for up to a month ...

- Uh, okay, but how ...

- Now I'm going for a walk. - I interrupted him in the middle of the question that was not going to get an answer either, in less than a blink, team seven was again alone in the clearing, dumbfounded.

I ran through that forest like I hadn't done in a long time.

I feel every beat.

I know every footprint.

I close my eyes.

I enjoy together with two bright-eyed cubs.
