Another knock at the door broke the comfortable silence that was being shared by Alexander and Nikolas.
"Enter," Alexander called out, his voice authoritative. The door swung open, and Xaitar entered with a quiet reverence.
He bowed deeply with his eyes cast downwards. "Sorry for the interruption, Your Majesties," he apologized
"But The Elders are demanding your presence at the Grand Meeting Hall. They have urgent matters to discuss."
Nikolas' eyes met Alexander's, a flicker of fear passing between his eyes at the summon.
Alexander's brow furrowed, already knowing it was about Lord Raven's death.
"Now?" Alexander asked, seeking clarification: could they not wait at least till tomorrow?
Xaitar nodded, his expression grave."Yes, Your Majesty. The Elders insist on your immediate attendance."
Nikolas stood. "Let me get ready," he said, steeling himself for what lay ahead.
