We left for the airport in two cars because my friends requested to drop me so that we could spend the remaining time with ourselves. "We'll always call you" Reni said to which Mel added, "to disturb you!" This made me smile a little. "Ah! It's so pleasant to my eyes" voiced Reni. I smacked her arms playfully as they laughed. The laughter ended eventually as we neared the airport and Mel sighed loudly. "Five years or not.., it's like we spent a lifetime with you but it's hard to see you...go" Reni whispered sadly, loud enough for us to hear. We reached the airport and I bid farewell to my best friends more like sisters. "Call me as soon as you reach there, kay?" Mel yelled as I went through the double doors of the airport. I smiled sadly and nodded meekly at them.
I sat with my mum as were waiting for the plane to take off. She saw my lucky charm and asked me, "This looks beautiful dear. Did it go well?" I smiled at the memory and replied, "It did go well mum. I gave them an identical one like mine" By now fresh set of tears fell down from my eyes. I didn't like to be seen as weak but this shook my life so hard. They were there when I escaped from those tormentors but now I am going back to those vile vicious people. "What am I going to do without them?" I asked my mum sadly. "Who's telling you to leave them? You could always talk to them through video calls or you can visit them during holidays. They would be thrilled by your surprised visits" she comforted me. "I guess I needed that and thanks for making me smile again!" I smiled at her and yawned. It was almost 1 in the morning and I eventually started dozing off to my sleep.
When I woke up, I noticed that the sky was shining brightly. But my shock was replaced by amusement because I was now traveling by a car. Mum and I were on the back with my dad driving. "You're up?" he questioned me. "Yeah dad. What's the time?" "Hmm, it's 8:27. You sleepwalked to the car when the plane landed. So I guessed it would be better if I wake you up after we reached our new house" he paused to look at me through the rear view mirror and continued, "I don't know whether it helps you or not but you look like a zombie right now, Merida" he chuckled. I glanced at myself through the mirror and found my hair all over my face in an untidy manner. My eyes, they were another story. They were dull and looked dead due to the lack of sleep I had. I quickly straightened my hair and said, "Thanks a lot dad" "Okay dear, sleep tight. I'll wake you up when it's time" "Sure" was the last sensible word which came from my mouth before I slept in the car again.
Moving from Melbourne to Sitka, hit me so hard. I would definitely miss all my favorite places, the persons who I cherish the most and not to forget, our tree house too. "Merry.... Merry, wake up! We reached our house dear.." I groggily opened my eyes. You see, I'm usually not a morning person but if did wake up, I'll be as grouchy as ever till I fill my system with caffeine. I watched my dad as he was helping my mum to place the luggage down. I hopped out from the car and got entranced by the beauty of our new house. There was an arch on top of the wooden gate which had flowers entwined in it. There was a small pasture in front of our house beside the driveway. It wasn't lawned but it still took my breath away. He definitely chose this house very carefully indeed. Our house was a bit larger than the ones in the neighborhood.
"Luke, I can't find the keys here!" Mum questioned him worriedly. "Is it with you, Merry?" "No Mum, I" My dad interrupted me and said, "It's with me, Del. I want you to open our house which will hold our future" She blushed profusely and went on to hug him. I turned around giving them their moment and observed the neighborhood. It had changed drastically. Haven't I mentioned that this very place is where I was born? If not then this is my hometown.
I had to change my country because of the worst incident which took place when I was 12. I pushed my horrendous memories farther behind my mind as I heard my dad calling my name. "Coming!" I yelled back. The interior of my house was so modern and I automatically fell in love with it. "Dad" I called him, making my voice sound low so that it doesn't include my mum. He shot a glance at my worried face. "What is it, Merry?" He's in town, am I right?" He didn't have to ask who was it cause he knew it by the look from my face. "Yes, but he's still in medication so don't worry. I promise you that I won't let it happen like the last time" he whispered as I shuddered at the memory. "Okay guys, let's bring our stuff inside" my mum ordered. After doing our job, we decided to go to a restaurant for lunch cause it was almost 12:30. Just then my dad got a call from the office. From his conversation, I could make out that he wouldn't be able to join us for lunch. "I'm so sorry guys cause the lunch is cancelled. My team wants me immediately and that's why they called" he replied sadly. I am always right. "Okay dad... Now off you go!" I said as I waved him goodbye.
"Guess, this house is ours now" she chuckled and I made my way to the nearest couch. "I want you, lazy log, to select your room except that one" she pointed out to my right side and continued, "cause that's ours" she said. "But before that, I want you to go buy groceries from the nearest store" I nodded and said, "Yes ma'am" as I saluted her. "Thank you Miss Merida" she said as I made my way to the door.
I had a lot of work to do. As soon as I came outside, I made my Harley roar to life. I put on my helmet and started riding. First priority was to buy groceries and second was to find a part time job for myself cause I didn't want to trouble my parents for money.
