Chapter 211 A Desperate Gamble

Seeing his own brother burned to death, Xue Fei was overwhelmed with grief and anger, coughing up a mouthful of blood.

Although he had often spoken of wanting to kill that scoundrel, it was still his own brother! Moreover, his mother had also met an untimely end—how could he not be devastated?

Xue Can, hanging from the rooftop, struggled for a short while before falling silent.

Inside the car, Xue Fei clutched his chest tightly, his phone ringing again with Chu Yuxuan's voice: "For the victims, I'll give him back to you!" With that, the burning body fell from the rooftop, landing in front of Xue Fei's car.

Xue Fei looked at the charred corpse amidst the crackling flames, trembling as he ended the call. Clenching his teeth tightly, he grabbed the arm of his bodyguard and with reddened eyes said, "I want to kill Chu Yuxuan with my own hands! I want to kill him myself!"

The bodyguard rubbed the scar on his chin with his thumb, glancing around the surroundings, then looked at the unfinished building and took out a pair of headphones—one for himself and one for Xue Fei. He said calmly, "I'll let you go, but you must leave."

Xue Fei frowned and said, "You can't handle them? So many gunmen, and they are all under your command! Can't you do anything about them? Are you kidding me?"

The bodyguard didn't offer any explanations. Though he had never fought directly with Chu Yuxuan's group, from the previous attempts on Xue Can's life and the ease with which the twelve professional bodyguards had been dealt with tonight, it was clear that Chu Yuxuan's team was formidable and could not be underestimated. He warned, "Remember, until I return, under no circumstances should you open the windows or get out of the car."

He then told the driver, "When I say go, move immediately. Don't delay for even a second."

Though enraged, Xue Fei knew he had to follow the instructions of this special forces bodyguard. He asked in a deep voice, "How long before you bring him to me?"

The bodyguard remained silent, continuing to survey the area. His gaze eventually settled on the rooftop of another unfinished building, which offered a broad view of the situation below.

The special forces' intuition was terrifyingly accurate. Although he did not know that Chu Yuxuan had a sharpshooter girl with him, Xiao Qing, who was currently aiming through a sniper scope from the darkness he could not see, the bodyguard knew that Xue Fei, in his current state, could not be persuaded otherwise. He took a deep breath, grabbed an assault rifle, rolled out of the car, and crouched behind a wall. Adopting a combat stance, he dashed into the unfinished building, joining the gunmen and personally leading them up the stairs in an orderly formation.

Chu Yuxuan appeared somewhat fatigued, quietly smoking on the rooftop while his brothers were nowhere to be seen.

Soon, the building was filled with the sounds of intense gunfire.

Xue Fei's gaze remained fixed on the roaring flames, his heart filled with anger and hatred, his expression growing increasingly impatient.

In his view, the special forces bodyguard had been too cautious. With nearly twenty well-trained gunmen and the bodyguard himself leading the operation, taking down Chu Yuxuan should have been easy.

Hearing the gunfire getting closer and closer, Xue Fei felt that the time to personally avenge his brother and confront Chu Yuxuan was drawing near.

Moments later, in his rage, Xue Fei remembered to call his father to inform him that his mother and brother had been killed. He wondered what negotiations could possibly be discussed now—none at all!

However, his call was rejected, and subsequent attempts went straight to voicemail.

Xue Fei frowned, feeling a sense of foreboding, but given his father's connections and relationship with the influential figures at Hong Lou, he believed nothing could go wrong. After thinking for a moment, he called Situ Jingli.

Situ Jingli glanced at her phone's incoming call, hesitated for a moment, and then answered.

"Miss Situ, thank you for informing me in time tonight, or else my dad might have been tricked by that Wang!"

Situ Jingli rolled her eyes and responded with a nonchalant "Hmm."

"Have you received the report letter?" Xue Fei asked.

Situ Jingli looked at her other phone, which displayed a video of the report letter being burned, and responded with another indifferent "Hmm."

Xue Fei asked, "Miss Situ, is my dad still at Hong Lou?"

Situ Jingli answered, "Yes."

Xue Fei frowned. Though irritated by Situ Jingli's indifferent attitude, he dared not say anything and lowered his tone, "I need your help with something. Can you have my dad call me back? I have urgent matters to discuss, but his phone is always unreachable."

Situ Jingli responded with another "Hmm" and then hung up the call.

Looking at the call that was abruptly ended, Xue Fei's anger erupted, and he cursed, "D*mn it! You filthy b*tch! What are you playing at with me?"

At that moment, a series of explosions suddenly erupted from the unfinished building, flames shooting up, and screams of agony filled the air!
