To make it look even more convincing, he added two more patches inside his lips. After all this, he took the elevator upstairs.

When he arrived at Zhao Yanan's apartment, Xiao Qing opened the door. Seeing Chu Yuxuan's appearance, she was startled. "Young Master, what happened to your mouth?"

Chu Yuxuan didn't rush inside. He casually replied, "It's nothing." Then, lowering his voice, he added, "Pack your things and head to my place to stay with Lao San. There might be some action tonight. Wait for my call."

Xiao Qing never questioned her young master's instructions. She simply nodded and, after Chu Yuxuan entered, went to the guest room to pack her belongings.

Zhao Yanan was sitting on the living room sofa. Upon hearing Chu Yuxuan's voice, she felt a brief moment of happiness, which quickly faded.

After not seeing each other for days, the couple exchanged glances. The ice-cold beauty caught sight of the patch on Chu Yuxuan's mouth, but said nothing and resumed her game of chess on her tablet.

Chu Yuxuan casually walked over, flashing a roguish smile as he extended his hand toward Zhao Yanan. "Still jealous over nothing? Come on, the usual — a handshake."

Zhao Yanan shot him a glance but didn't take his hand. "Do you really think I would be jealous?" she said coolly.

Chu Yuxuan sat beside her, forcibly taking her hand. "Playing chess, huh? Looks like you've been practicing self-cultivation lately. Not bad."

With a hint of resentment in her eyes, Zhao Yanan withdrew her hand. "Thanks to a certain someone, none of the senior management at the company talks to me anymore. Other than playing games, I really don't know what else I can do."
