Burn The Enemy Base

"Let's just stop here, Shane," Jade said to Shane.

Shane stopped the car. He looked at Jade questioningly because he couldn't read his mate's mind.

"Better not being seen in front of Max when we're together," Jade informed him.

"Okay."

They kissed for a while then Shane pulled away. He got out of the car then Jade took over the wheel and left Shane.

For some reason, since her close relationship with Shane, Jade felt a certain stiffness towards Max. Maybe because they rarely saw each other which made them feel stiff when they were together.

Jade took a breath and exhaled. She was trying to get herself ready to meet Max without having to fight or ask what he'd been up to these past few days.

And when she saw Max in the apartment lobby, Jade hugged him as usual. She felt calm when she met him. The hug lasted so long that several people noticed them.

"Ah... I miss you," Jade said honestly.
