Chapter６８

"Honey, come sit here with me." Nick reached over and patted the bed next to him. I think it's time we had a little chat.

She looked at me awkwardly as she hemmed and hawed.

Nicola continued more sternly, "all of us."

Although she moved slowly across the room, she eventually sat down on the bed next to him. At the time, I wished I could have joined them, wrapping an arm around her and keeping her close.

However, I was unable to physically interact with her. Not until I knew she'd be happy to see me. It would absolutely break my heart if she shied away from me now. If I try to force the situation, I could end up doing more harm than good. This required her willingness. Even if she is in our custody, I would never intentionally put her in danger or make her feel bad.

Unlike myself, Nicola wasn't hesitant to speak up. He extended his hand and grasped hers. She hardened her body, but she didn't withdraw.

She had faith in him even after all this time. She still had feelings for him.
