The City's Surrounded

As Feerah, Hathon, and the masked Zac reached the town gate, the guards stationed there opened one door immediately.

Standing on the other side was a Briston captain. He showed no fear or hesitation as the higher-ups from Frantoch approached him. He also showed no arrogance or cockiness, never presenting anything other than a neutral, blank expression.

The messenger dropped to one knee and held out a sealed scroll. "Commander Feerah, I've been told to hand this to you. And to ask permission to set up a mediation tent halfway between Briston's main camp and the Boarril gate."

Without a word, Feerah opened the scroll and scanned over it. She inhaled sharply while reading its contents, exhaling slowly while processing the meaning of what would happen next.

"... I accept the construction of a mediation tent. I'll send ten men to help set it up if you'll send ten men to do the same."
