"Time to work, kid!" Dedric said, retrieving a fully-repaired stone golem from his ring. "Don't hold back just because they fought alongside us before!"

Jash nodded. It was the exact thought that had been rolling around in Jash's mind for the past few minutes. "... But what if–"

"They're trying to kill the interim lord. So how do you respond to killing intent, Jash?"

That struck a deep cord in Jash, reminding him of all the times Bil drilled that mindset into him. "With killing intent!"

When Jash leaped into the fray, Dedric followed with a smile. In the back of Dedric's head, he thought, *At least he's like his father on the battlefield. Thoughtful at times and willing to act when needed. But the boy does need a push every so often, a symptom of youth I suppose.*
