I'll Talk to a Captain

Before the vendor could react or ask what was wrong, one hand had already grabbed the vendor's throat and another ripped the locket's leather cord out of the vendor's hands.

"HEY!?" the vendor shouted while being half-choked.

Nelphy and everyone else nearby was baffled by Kriff's mood swing. His drastic reaction to the vendor's outspoken offers was too much for anyone to take lightly.

"What are you doing?" another nearby vendor shouted, furious to see someone of the same cloth being treated so harshly without reason.

The guard stationed in that section of seating ran over to Kriff with his hand on the hilt of his sheathed sword. "What's the meaning of your actions?"

"This locket needs to be investigated, as does this man," stated Kriff, only tightening his grip around the man's throat. "If both the locket and this man come back clean then I'll pay whatever consequences I must for my actions."
