– Makarov Dreyar –

"Okay, tell me again what happened, slowly this time."

Makarov rubbed his head as he eyed the two troublemakers that had just returned from their mission. Apparently their mission was successful and they got the completed sign. However it was the fact that the reward was rescinded that Makarov couldn't get heads or tails with.

Laxus took a deep breath before re-beginning his tale. "So me and Danny had to find this bandit camp, right? But the forest was so dense so we couldn't see anything and finding them was hard. So I used my magic and I punched one of the trees and guess what? It worked! Apparently the bandits were using the thick bushes to hide but that didn't work on us! We kicked some butt and I did this new move called Thunder Meteor and they all immediately went down! Then we gave the bandits to the mayor for mission success." Laxus's excitement was palpable as he was waving his arms and did animated gestures to complete his story.

Makarov only blinked at that before chuckling. Punching a tree and then finding the bandits. Seriously, these kinds of things only happen to Fairy Tail.

"Okay…and why was the reward taken, then?"

Dannis then sighed before he cut in, taking over the story. "That's because when Laxus punched the tree with his magic, the lightning ignited the bushes around it and everything burst into flames. We also didn't notice the whole thing since we were pretty distracted at the time."

"Hey, don't blame that on me! I only did it because you were taking so long in finding the bandits!"

"So your solution to that was to create a forest fire?!"

"At least my idea worked!"

"That was just pure luck dumbass!"

"What the hell did you call me?!"

"Hey hey, come on kids. Calm down no-" Makarov's words were interrupted when Laxus punched Dannis in the face, only for Dannis to then retaliate with an elbow to Laxus's chin.

It didn't take long for them to throw down in a full blown fight. Their actions also incited another guild brawl to happen right in the middle of the guild.

"And there they go." Makarov sighed tiredly.

"Come on, cut em' some slack master. There's nothing wrong with breaking a few things here and there. It encourages growth!"

The voice of Gildarts Clive came in as he sat beside the master drinking from a wooden mug.

"Oh don't you start with me Gildarts! You're the worst one of all! The council is still on my ass from your last job where you destroyed an entire mountain! And saying it was an accident because you tripped while climbing it isn't a sufficient excuse!" Makarov chastised as his head grew bigger to scream at the larger man.

"Maa maa, relax master. You're gonna pop a vein at this rate." Gildarts replied nonchalantly.

"This is why I can never retire!"

Gildarts laughed at that, before taking a large gulp of his drink. "In any case, Fairy Tail sure got livelier with those two now taking missions. I wonder what other kids we'll get coming through those doors. I just know that the next generation is in good hands if we have those two at the helm."

"Hmm, we'll see. They are still just children now, but I won't lie when I say I see immense potential in them. Both Laxus and Dannis will grow to be quite a powerful pair of mages. I'm sure of it. One of the few good things of living so long is that you get to see the next generation grow to be the great people you've always envisioned them becoming." Makarov added with a stroke of his beard.

"Then it looks like I'm really getting old, huh?" Gildarts chuckled.

"Bah, you're still young Gildarts. You've still got a good amount of years in you."

"I guess so. But I actually get what you're saying. Makes me kinda want a few of my own." Gildarts commented forlornly, gaining the old man's full attention. "It's not the first time I thought of it, y'know? Settling down, maybe have a few little brats running around the house. Coming home to a beautiful wife. The simple life." Gildarts face gained a melancholic look as he imagined the only woman he knew that could fill that role in his life.

"It's still not too late, Gildarts. You know that, right?" Makarov questioned.

Gildarts was quiet for a second before he answered. "Nah, that part of my life is gone now. All there is the handsome and dashing womanizer of Fairy Tail, HAHAHAHA."

The both of them could tell that there was a hollowness to Gildarts's laugh. The man himself was also content with it. After all, he fumbled hard, and now Cornelia wants nothing to do with him.

'Oh well it's for the best.'

Makarov simply raised a mug that Gildarts tapped with his own before they continued to just watch as the incurring brawl.

[From here on, switching to MC 1st person POV]

— Dannis Martell —

I took a deep breath as I entered Porlyusica's house with Makarov and Wakaba. The old master had told me that the prosthetic eye had arrived and it was time to implant it.

I also smiled a bit in excitement since the eye had a magic lacrima embedded inside it, which means that I'll soon get an extra boost in power with the new magic I'll get from the lacrima.

It took me a while to determine what abilities I wanted embedded within it, but in the end I chose one that put a heavy emphasis on survival. It would complement well with my already developing abilities and would serve well as a secret trump card.

The lacrima itself was apparently based on a Divination Mage's crystal ball or something, and that it would allow me to see things that haven't happened yet.

That's right folks, my new eye would now have the ability to see the goddamn future.

Obviously, it wasn't as overpowered as people realize. Now that the lacrima was jammed into my eye, I have to be the one to power it myself using my own magic instead of an external source like what the Divination Mage did.

And apparently, seeing the future requires A LOT of magic to do, so I'll have to be careful when I use it lest I drain my own magic power to zero.

The more magic I pump into the lacrima eye, the further I see into the future. Which means future me is going to have a blast in casinos when I eventually grow my magic pool.

In any case, here we were in Porlyusica house and preparing for the surgery.

"Are you okay, kiddo?" Master Makarov asked in slight concern.

"Yeah. Yeah, I'm okay. It's just a little bit nerve wracking, you know. It's been like what, a month? I've sort of gotten used to seeing with only one eye." I said as I scratched the eye patch that covers my left eye.

"A month of having one eye doesn't compare to 8 years seeing with two. I thought you wanted this, Dannis?" The older man asked with a bit of a questioning tone.

"I do, master. This lost eye is just proof of my failure and weakness. I want to be someone better and stronger, to make sure what happened to me doesn't happen to someone else."

Makarov just ruffled my hair with a grin. "Then this is a great first step to it my boy."

I just smiled at the man who had took me in and cared for me when no one else could. "Thank you master, for everything."

"Anytime my boy."

It didn't take long then for Porlyusica to make her appearance. The woman was garbed in surgical clothes with a medical apron and a mask. She gave us a nod as I stood up and followed her to the adjacent room.

I looked back at the master before I reached the door to see him give me a look and a nod, one that said that everything would be alright.

If anyone said that they were calm before a surgery, they would be lying. My heart was hammering out of my chest in fear of anything going wrong. But seeing the master and Wakaba's look calmed me of my nerves as I took a deep breath and steeled myself.

Porlyusica was the best doctor we had, and Makarov was close by in case anything happened or my magic went bollock.

That's right, everything is going to be just okay.

It has to be.

AN: Fairy Tail shenanigans and we finally get to see the Eye magic that Dannis would get.

What did you think about my pick for Future Sight/Clairvoyance? Underwhelming, overpowered, just right?
