Fairune!

The new VRMMORPG Fairune! was lauded as the next best game to hit the shelves, it would be a kind of second world for people. It was pushed as a world without limits, where you could be whoever you wanted. Liam is about to embark on his own adventure in the new world, fighting monsters and finishing quests all with the hope of being the greatest swordsman in the game. Follow Liam as he grows from a novice VRMMORPG player to someone renowned throughout the world. This is my first time writing anything so it will probably be poor at first but I will try to improve as I write the chapters. Enjoy

Tough Fight (3)

The first thing the necromancer did as soon as the barrier drop was cast a buff spell on its self. Liam checked the icon that appeared next to it's health bar to determine what he is up against. It was a blue square with a picture of a wand going from the top left corner to bottom right with an arrow pointing upwards in the top right corner. This indicated that the monster has increased it's magical damage potential.

Liam didn't observe for long before he got in range of the necromancer and used <Charge> to get close and do some more damage.

As if on cue the necromancer used teleporter to move out of range before Liam could even hit it again.

"Fuck! Not again!" Liam was pissed as he now had to play cat and mouse with the monster again. However it started casting a different spell this time. It would take Liam 3 seconds to catch up with the necromancer but after only two the spell it was chanting was finished.

The spell the necromancer cast was called <Rain of Fire>. It started to blanket a small area with fireballs coming from a glyph that appeared in the sky. Liam had trouble dodging them as they were rather fast and there was not much room to maneuver. The fatigue he had built up was getting worse.

"What the hell?! This is crazy!" Liam was exasperated at the constant fireballs dropping towards him causing him to almost slip up. "Shit that was close."

After 6 seconds of bombardment the spell finally stopped but it seemed like the damage was done as Liam could feel the exhaustion settle in.

'No I can't fail here. I'll rest after I beat this damn thing!' This was only the first fight of the dungeon and it was already showing how tough it was.

A fireball was heading Liam's way but he managed to evade it albeit with some difficulty. Thankfully <Charge> has just come off cooldown and Liam was also in range so he immediately used it.

Liam managed another 3 hits after the rush before another barrier appeared around the necromancer.

"Rise Warriors of Yore and do my bidding..."

The necromancer started chanting again and more purple smoke started rising out of 3 more bone piles.

Liam used this time to rest while he awaited what the next set of 3 risen undead he would be facing off against.

After a few seconds the newly risen revealed themselves. They were different from the three he fought before. Liam checked there basic information to see what he was up against.

[Bone Commander (Elite), Lvl T0:10, HP 2300/2300]

The first one he saw was a skeleton decked in full armour, in fact you would know it was just bones inside if you hadn't witnessed it being risen. The armour is a silver colour with traces a copper brown skirting the edges, there was a design of a sword flanked by two wings on its chest.

[Bone Rogue (Elite), Lvl T0:10, HP 1600/1600]

The next was a smaller skeleton decked out in ripped black leather armour. It was missing the right leg of its trousers along with half the right arm showing no signs of protection. The sword and wings motif was also adorned on the chest armour of the rogue showing that the were part of the same order once upon a time.

[Bone Cleric (Elite), Lvl T0:10, HP 1200/1200]

And the last was a surprise. Liam didn't think skeletons would be able to be healed as healing magic was typically of the light elemental category. However this fight will prove him wrong. The cleric itself was adorned in a pure white robe with the same motif. It held a staff in its hands that was made of some type of metal with a jewel inset on the top that was glowing with an eerie purple shine.

After reading Liam knew he was going to struggle more here. He didn't know about the healing yet but just the rogue was going to cause troubles, and that's with know what the commander will do. Liam instinctively knew these raised mobs will have skills unlike the last set, so he will have to stay on his upmost guard.

It didn't take long before the rogue disappeared into stealth. The commander closed in rather quickly before thrusting a spear, that Liam didnt see before, right towards it's opponents face. The cleric at the back was fire basic mana bolts a Liam hoping to get a quick hit in as there was nothing else it needed to do at this stage.

Liam dodged both the incoming attacks while keeping an eye on his back. He wants to take the rogue out first as it was currently the most dangerous on the field in his opinion. Even with him watching, the rogue still appeared behind him and Liam could see the gleam of steel that was racing towards his neck.
