The sound was a force unto itself, and Rain, caught within its domain, felt as though his tendons might snap. His body trembled uncontrollably.

He wanted to curse, to express his frustration, but the sheer magnitude of fear held him back.

The winds intensified, swirling into a vortex that the turtle's roar had altered.

Rain, feeling a wave of dread wash over him, forced himself to stand. He stared at the massive creature, stumbling backward, his expression grave.

Panic clawed at his insides.

The size of the turtle loomed over him like a death sentence. If it decided to swallow him whole, he wouldn't even be a mere appetizer.
