CHAPTER SIX...

Today was the day.

The day I leave my pack to Vladimir's pack. The last three days had been filled with goodbyes to everyone and today I was finally leaving. Henry had told me to get ready by 9 so I only had 3 hours to finish up every other thing I might have to do.

I quickly left my bed to start on my daily routine. I brushed my teeth and went outside for my morning run. After I finished running, I went to the kitchen to get an apple when I saw Carlos leaning against the fridge. I immediately knew that something was wrong.

"Okay what's wrong Car you are never up this early except it's for Alpha business with dad or you want to go on a run with…", before I could complete my statement, he hugged me.

"I'm going to miss you so much Gigi, so much" he mumbled.

"Okay…", I pulled away to look him directly in the eyes to get my point across.

"You know I'm not really going anywhere right I mean I'm not far away just four hours and I'll come over any time to see you guys I can't ever leave my family okay" I smiled at him but he still didn't smile back at me.

"I know Gigi but you know what I mean you won't be here anymore as in you won't live here but only come for visits. I don't know what we'd do without you here".

"Finally, you admit that I'm the life of the party in this house". My attempt to lighten up the mood worked because he finally smiled at me.

"You know I never said such a thing" I smiled back at him.

"Oh Gigi, you are the best. Oh how on earth would we live without you" I said doing my best to mimick him.

"Hey! I do not sound like that".

"Besides Lily is here so you won't miss me much you'll be too distracted to notice that I'm not around if you know what I mean". I winked at him.

"You know that's not true I'll miss you, hell everyone will". He hugged me again this time ruffling my hair. "Besides who'll trouble me when you're no longer here". I smacked his chest while laughing.

"You should really go shower cause you're sweaty and you stink" Carlos said, laughing I elbowed him before walking away to my room to take a shower sniffing myself as I go, I really do stink.

After showering and getting ready I went downstairs to eat breakfast with my family. We had our own wing in the pack house so only during special events do the whole pack eat together in the huge dining hall downstairs.

Breakfast let's just say was really quiet which was something to say considering the fact that breakfast and every other meal was never a quiet affair in fact it was normally our bonding time where we discussed everything about our day and so on.

But today's breakfast was quiet and I knew why, no one knew what to say. I was leaving and we didn't know when next we were going to sit down like this together so I guess we all wanted to savour the moment. That was until Carlos decided to break the silence with his jokes after that everyone started talking.

My family really had bad table manners.

After breakfast I went back to my room to make sure everything I needed was packed and twenty minutes later Henry was here and It was time to go.

I went downstairs and was met with my close family and friends; they were all here to say goodbye to me. I quickly closed my eyes to rein in my tears. I didn't want to start crying right here it'll just make my mum cry which I didn't want. Liv was the first to come hug me after which every other person came to say their goodbyes. It was at that point I really wished my mate was a member of my pack so I wouldn't have to leave but sadly that wasn't the case.

Henry came in to remind me that we'd arrive late if we didn't leave right now. So, I gave my mum and dad one last hug and before I left to join Henry in the car Liv grabbed me and gave me one last hug before telling me to make sure I called once I arrived. I nodded and left to join Henry in the car. I had specifically told everyone not to follow me to the car because I knew it'll just make it harder to leave. I entered the car sitting at the front since it was only me and Henry. After putting on my seatbelt he started driving.

We drove in silence for almost two hours before Henry decided to break the silence.

"You know Vladimir isn't bad it's just that he's been through a lot and he never expected to have another mate hell none of us expected him to". He still sounded surprised by the fact that I was Vladimir's mate.

"Still he should have at least took me to the pack by himself not making you do it". I didn't even know why I was answering him seeing as just the mention of Vladimir got me angry but I knew I'd feel bad if I didn't. I wasn't the type of person to take my anger out on someone else.

"I know. I tried to convince him to do it but there was a really important meeting he couldn't miss or reschedule. He would've if he could ".

Yeah right as if.

I knew he didn't want to tell me what Vladimir had really said. He didn't just want to be here I mean he is an Alpha a really important Alpha at that he could easily not go for a meeting if he didn't want to or had any important thing to do instead I'm pretty sure that those people he has a meeting with would cancel if he told them he wanted to take his mate to his pack for the first time. But who cares anyway I certainly don't?

"Is he going to be there when we arrive". I couldn't help but ask even though I already knew the answer to my question.

"No, the meeting is for five days. So, he'll be back by tomorrow".

And I was right. Great he wasn't going to be there when I arrived.

Fabulous! just fucking fantastic.

I knew I said I didn't care but I did care at least my wolf did care.

I was so angry that if this were a cartoon smoke would be coming out of my ears. I couldn't believe him is that how much he wants to avoid me well I'll simply have to show him that two could certainly play this game.

After he said that he didn't try to start another conversation. I'm sure he could sense that I was angry.

So, we spent the remaining hours of the journey in silence, which I used to calm myself down.
