Missing Her Competitor

Some days passed and everyone in the Premiere Academy couldn't help but talk about the other day's event. It was a topic worth discussing as such had never happened at Premiere.

Not only was Zagan strong and graceful, but he was also mysterious. No one knew his name. Not even Julius the one who claimed to be his friend.

When Julius was asked enthusiastically about the identity of the mysterious beast, he couldn't give a clear answer. Apparently, even he knew not Zagan's name. Thinking about it, he realized that Zagan knew a lot about him but he knew only a little about Zagan.

Zagan was out early doing his normal routine. Even now, master Wen Xu was not back yet; it had been two months since he left to handle some important issues, and still, there's no word from him.

Zagan wasn't worried about the grandmaster but there was someone else on his mind.

It had been five months since he came back from the Amazon Academy and ever since that day, he had been having strange dreams. Most of the time, he would dream of a girl with red hair having a sinister smile on her face. Her face was blurry but her smile was obvious.

This was something that had never happened before; he had never dreamt of any female except Leah so seeing this mysterious girl was confusing.

Most of the time, he would wake up in the middle of the night and meditate because he couldn't sleep without seeing the same girl. He was sure that he had never seen that face before so who was she? Or could it be because her portrayal was blurry in his dreams and that's why he didn't recognize her? But why did it start immediately after he left the Amazon Academy?

His routines were the only thing that helped him relax so he just stuck to it.

During his routine, Julius came over and told him that the headmaster of their academy wanted to see him for something.

"He didn't mention why, but I'm guessing he heard about the incident from the other day," Julius explained. He was unaware of the fact that Zagan had already discussed with the headmaster on that day. So he thought that the headmaster surely would have called Zagan over for that reason.

"I'm sorry for getting you into that mess. I shouldn't have encouraged you to play along with those friends of mine."

Julius was regretful for asking Zagan to come along with him. Knowing Zagan, Julius was sure that he wasn't the attention-seeking type and that he probably did what he did just to satisfy the other wolves in his park. But unknown to him was that it was Zagan's plan all along. He had always wanted to take his revenge, and an opportunity came along so he grabbed it.

So now that the headmaster had requested his presence, he wasn't in the least surprised in fact, it took too long.

Zagan simply nodded slightly and took a quick bath before leaving for the Premier Academy.

Titan stared at the blue sky as she remembered someone special. Today, she would be going back home to the Lynx palace. Finally, she'll get to meet her family again. 'Oh! How I miss them.' She thought.

Zagan had told her that they would meet where the sunrises but she had no idea what that meant. She even began to speculate that it could just be a way of saying goodbye from where he comes from. She missed him a little bit but since he had faith that they would meet again, she would wait for that day to come.

In a few hours, she would be leaving this Academy. She didn't realize how much she had gotten attached to this place. The people, the environment, her masters, and even her competitors. She would miss all of them. She would miss all the attention she got from the girls and miss all the hate she got from some. Funny! But true.

"Titan. It's time." Aurora called out to her in a calm voice. Aurora was glad that Titan had become a strong woman although the reason behind master D asking her to become her guardian was still unknown to her, she was still happy that Titan could achieve such a great height of success under her watch.

She had forgotten what it meant to care for someone except her master and in a way, this mission changed her as well. She became more human than before. Caring and protecting a little nine-year-old till her age doubled.

Titan unhurriedly diverted her gaze from the ice blue sky and followed master Aurora. Her years at the Amazon Academy were some of her best years ever. Surely, she would never forget.

"It has been more than nine years since you walked through that door gracefully. You changed my perspective of life and made me see life from a different dimension. I'm sure that most people gathered here would also say the same.

"You challenged my intelligence and became the gem in quite a number of people's eyes. Especially the juniors. You have become a mentor to so many and staying at the Amazon Academy would be fantastic. But the choice is in your hands.

" You can choose to stay here and build amazonian warriors that would serve just like you. Or... You can choose to leave."

"Whatever your decision is, always remember that we the Amazon academy have become your family."

The headmaster's speech was short but remarkable. For a moment, Titan thought about staying back but she just couldn't bring herself to do that. Her parents miss her and would be longing for her return she certainly wouldn't want to make them wait till the end of their lives besides, she couldn't deny that she missed them as well and longed to return home.

The headmaster already knew what her answer would be so, she smiled bitterly, "Here...this is your golden headband, wear it always as a symbol of pride and you would always be reminded that you are an amazonian."

"This is a whistle, whenever you need the Amazonians, blow it. And we would be there before you know it."

The headmaster then leaned close to Titan's ears and whispered,

"Princess Titan of the Lynx clan, it was indeed a pleasure training you. I put some uniform and a whip in your backpack."

Since Titan was disguised as a male, she never wore the uniform but now, she would have the chance to wear them whenever she wished.

The headmaster stood straight again and spoke to the hearing of the other people who stood in the crowd.

"I hereby present to you, Titan, the first male amazonian. We would always remember you and we are happy to have trained you."

After saying this, she stepped down from the podium and scattered Titan's hair. She would have given her a big hug but unfortunately, every other person except Aurora, thought she was a male.

Titan smiled and after the ceremony, she was escorted to the gate by the people that loved her. Zian was not excluded. She escorted Titan and even though her tears were unseen, her eyes were red.

Aurora, Zian, and some juniors followed as well. Most of them had their clothes soaked with tears. It was obvious that they would all miss Titan. Although she never spoke a word, she fought well.

Asides from all the people who stood by the gate, someone else watched from the top of a tower. It was Angela Wick. Her greatest competitor was gone. She was supposed to be happy but she wasn't. She would miss her competitor. After all, what fun would life be without any competition?

Unlike Titan, she had chosen to stay back at the academy and become a guardian since she was an orphan and had nowhere to go.

She stared at the Titan's silhouette till it disappeared out of her sight. Why did it feel as though she would miss her competitor?
