Chapter 13 Offending the Emperor

As his head turned back Long Lei examined the 10 new figures. They were a middle aged man, clad in silk robes who had a noble air to him, a beautiful woman who seemed to be in her 30s, along with 7 young men, and 1 little girl.

These 10 figures were the Royal Family of the Flowing River Kingdom, specifically the Emperor, the Empress, the 8 Princes, and the Princess.

As the Emperor walked forward, the room fell deathly silent, till a chuckle resounded. "Hahaha, is this all you're worth? Emperor? You look more like a beggar to me!" Long Lei said as immediately everyone in the room feel deathly quiet, even Long Tian and Qin Mei were shocked by their son.

"YOU! Do you have no respect for the Emperor?!" The 2nd Prince said as he unsheathed his sword, his 8th Stage Qi Refinement cultivation base flaring. Before he could do anything though, the Emperor waved his hand indicating that he should back down.

'It seems the Emperor isn't too dumb, but damn, these Rage Points are kind of extreme.' Long Lei thought as he gained over 1000 Rage Points today alone. 'I guess the higher the cultivation base of the opponent the more Rage Points I get.' Long Lei mused as a smiled graced his face.

"My god what a dog you are! I just slapped your face in front of everyone here, and when your son goes to defend you, you tell him to back down?" Long Lei bellowed as he pointed at the Emperor.

At this point, Long Lei had gone too far, the Emperor's face was completely flushed red, and the 1st Prince had an air of killing intent around him. Seeing this, Long Lei only chuckled.

"Hahaha, you're too funny! How old are you? Like 60 right, and your son must be around 16? And you're getting mad at a 3 year old, this is too great!" Long Lei laughed out. Immediately a brush of wind passed by him as his father stood in front of him.

The 1st Prince's sword had slashed out sending a gust of wind towards him. With the 1st Prince's 9th Stage Qi Refinement cultivation base that could have been deadly to Long Lei, at least, that's what the rest of the crowd thought.

"Seems you can only hide behind your father. If you're just going to keep barking, I would rather you leave my little sister's birthday banquet." He said as he sheathed his sword.

"Your child Long Tian, you should keep him under control." The Emperor said as he settled down more or less. "Wait, when did I ever say it was over? I have a gift for the princess." Long Lei said as he was about to walk past his father.

Almost immediately though, his father held him back. "You've done enough today Lei'er." Long Tian said with a stern face. "But father, I found these mysterious pills in our back garden the other day, and when I ate one it boosted my cultivation speed by 10x! That's how I've reached my current stage. I just wanted to give the final one to the princess as a sign of good will!" Long Lei explained cutely, as everyone within the hall was stunned.

Qin Mei and Long Tian were extremely surprised as well, but on this inside they were fuming. 'If he had such an item he should have kept it secret!' Long Tian thought as he fumed inwardly, outwardly he was as cool as ice, although he showed some surprise on his face.

Yang Hong though, was extremely happy. 'So it seems Yang Kong isn't worse than this child, Long Tian's son just has some dog shit luck!' Yang Hong thought as a smile crossed his face.

The Emperor on the other hand was confused. "You're all just willing to believe this child, just like that?" The Emperor asked puzzled as to why a bunch of adults, people at the top of his kingdom, would believe a 3 year old child who just threw a temper tantrum.

Seeing his confusion, Gu Gang (fodder villain), soon interjected. "This child just displayed a cultivation base at the 3rd Stage of Qi Refinement, so its the only logical reason as to how he's at such a level at such a young age." Gu Gang explained shocking the Emperor.

"In that case, we accept your gift child." The Emperor said as he swallowed some of his pride. If what this child said was true, this pill could be pivotal in the cultivation of his daughter.

"Sure this is all in good fun after all." Long Lei said as he walked past his father and towards the high platform. As his small feet hit the jade floor, the crowd watched as the world seemed to slow.

Not too slowly, not too quickly, with perfect precision he took each step, the arrogance on his face on full display to all. Even the 1st Prince and Yang Hong had to give him some props with how composed he seemed at this moment.

Soon he reached the platform, and inn his hand appeared a small box, in which an aromatic white pill laid. "For the Princess." Long Lei said as he kneeled slightly handing the box to the girl his age.

"Thank you." She said composedly as she accepted the gift. Seeing how she acted the Empress couldn't help but smile. 'At least she doesn't have outbursts like that scoundrel.' She thought as she gazed at Long Lei.

As Long Lei finished handing her the gift, he turned around his back facing the royal clan. Suddenly he felt a force move towards his back, and soon he felt himself falling as the world turned upside down.

"Boom!"

He crashed into the jade floor as Qin Mei and Long Tian looked on in shock. "Hmph! And you call me shameless? Now who might you be?!" Long Lei said in immense anger as he gazed at the boy on the platform.

"I am the 8th Prince Jiang Chen! The Unparalleled Genius of the Kingdom!" Jiang Chen declared. Seeing the boy even Long Tian's brows creased. 'Each of the 8 princes are geniuses, but somehow in one day, Lei'er managed to offend them all, and the 3 most troublesome are especially pissed off at him.' He thought as his head began to ache.

The 1st Prince, was considered a sword maniac who pursued the way of the sword with everything he had. The 2nd Prince although quite loud at times, was an excellent leader and was a genius in cultivation in his own right.

But these 2 held no ground in comparison to the 8th Prince. Rumors said that on the day of his birth golden rays graced the kingdom, as the sun shone brighter than ever before. On his 3rd birthday it is said that he found a Golden Yang Wolf Cub, a beast which has a lineage even greater than that of Yun by many times.

Now he's 4 years old, and his cultivation base had reportedly hit the 4th Stage of Qi Refinement, he was completely and undeniably a genius!

What people didn't know though, was that Long Lei couldn't be defined by such a shitty word as a genius! He was above that, he was hax!

"Hahaha! Jiang Chen? I see. You must a have stick up your ass, if you can match me in a few years time, I might consider you passable!" Long Lei said as he gazed coldly at the 4 year old.

"Hmph! I don't have time for trash." Jiang Chen replied as he gazed down at Long Lei. "Seeing as its come to this, we should leave." Long Tian said as he went to grab Long Lei.

A few minutes later they left, as almost everyone at the banquet sneered at them. 'Oh Long Tian, your son is even more troublesome than my own.' Hou Cong thought as he pitied his friend.
