Eve listened to the conversation between Lucius and Michaela. The reality of their presence in the maze began to sink in, and with it, a growing sense of dread enveloped her.
Why were they here? What were they looking for? And most importantly, were they after the same thing she sought?
Michaela's suspicion was palpable as she questioned Lucius about his motives. "The maze is strong enough to harm a vampire, yet you are unharmed," she pointed out, her voice laced with uncertainty.
Lucius, seemingly unfazed by the accusation, retorted, "If the Maze cannot harm me, why would I need to bring you here?"
Eve strained to make sense of their cryptic exchange. What were they talking about? She knew that the maze was full of enchantments but she did not know it could harm a vampire.
