The Strawberry and The Carrot

Demyan

"Demyan, I need help," Malia huffed as she came into our room dressed in her red spandex tights, matching shirt and flats. She held a strawberry costume in her arms which was the same size as her torso. "Why aren't you in your costume?" She kicked my foot as I laid spread on the bed in orange spandex tights and a matching shirt.

"I was taking a moment to breathe. I'm just finding peace in the quiet before the storm," I grinned as I lifted my head before I collapsed against the bed again.

She threw her tiny body on top of mine and cuddled against me. I automatically ran my hand up and down her back as she snuggled against my chest. "There's going to be screaming children for hours, I don't think any of us are ready."

I let out a chuckle which caused her whole body to move with mine as she giggled. "What were we thinking throwing him a vegetable party?"
