Ethan

I first noticed Demyan had a crush on me when he was sixteen. It was during the two weeks he always spent in New Zealand with his siblings and parents.

There was something different in the way he looked at me. His eyes lit up a bit more than usual and the boy who normally ran to me seemed very reserved. A blush coated his cheeks as soon as our eyes met after he had climbed out of the Range Rover Uncle Ed loved. He was the last to hug me which was weird since he was always first.

I figured maybe he was sick or something had happened but once we were face to face, his smile immediately lit up his face when I picked him up and spun him around. I was twenty-five back then, the thought of Demyan having a crush on me seemed so far-fetched. I was too old for him, he was meant to be crushing on whatever boy band was trending at the time.

"Did you miss me?" I ruffled his hair which always annoyed him but he never complained.
