Next Plan Of Action

Anxi gazed intently at the small apartment in front of her, this must be where she lives.

"Do you need me to walk you in?" Asked the driver after noticing her hesitancy but Anxi shook her head with a grateful smile crossing her lips.

"No sir, I... I'm fine, thank you for the lift." She quietly got down from the car and smiled in appreciation before heading in, the driver only smiled at her conviviality, before driving off, his master is still at the hotel and he can be quite unpredictable.

Anxi made her way past the front yard, although it wasn't a big house, it looked comfortable and its front yard flaunts a small yet dainty garden leading up to the entrance of the building.

Anxi didn't really know what awaits her once she steps in adding to her anxiousness.

It all still felt like a dream and it was difficult accepting the fact she was dead but her soul was transferred to the body of someone else's.

Normally, books she's read before had to deal with souls transmigrating into the body of the crippled or the weak, although hers was technically weak, she was grateful she didn't end up crippled or paralyzed and certainly not waking up in a hospital.

Taking a deep breath, she opened the door and made her way in, the first thing her eyes caught a glance of was the simple yet adorned living room.

The cushions were black with a side table at the end. The walls were painted sky blue in color and it gave out that home-like feeling that would make one feel at ease.

"Anxi, is that you?" A sentimental calm voice followed, grasping Anxi's attention.

An old lady was standing at the kitchen table making some dessert, her gray hair was tied in a bun and although she had aged, her brown eyes still looked bright and filled with life, she looked elegant and her face portrayed one with gentility, Anxi could easily emphasize how pretty she must have looked during her youth.

"Is that you Anxi?" The old lady called again and Anxi was snapped out of her dazed expression.

"Y_yes grandmother."

The old lady stepped out of the kitchen and headed towards the dining table with the fresh cake dessert she just made.

"My dear you came just in time, I knew you'd show up late so I had your favorite dessert made just for you." She lovingly said while Anxi could barely respond, cake dessert? The previous Anxi was indeed interested in cakes and loved her grandmother wholeheartedly.

"My dear...." the old lady stopped mid-sentence when she turned to look at her granddaughter, she sized her up with her gaze and noticed the nightdress she was putting on, her hair looked a bit disheveled and she had a Jacket draped around her body, not just any jacket but a man's jacket.

The old lady wasn't dumb to put two to two together, she walked up to her granddaughter, folding her arms with a stern gaze.

"Anxi, where did you go?" The seriousness in her tone caught Anxi off guard, she realized she was still in the nightdress and to make it worse, she had a man's jacket covering her body.

The previous Anxi didn't inform her grandmother about the deal she made but the old lady was able to realize something wasn't right with her daughter and today it seems her suspicion has been proven right.

"Anxi." Her gaze was firm as she calmly waited for her confused granddaughter to start talking, Anxi instantly forced a smile and dropped the jacket.

"Grandmother, I forgot to inform you that my female colleagues had a girls night out today, that's why I'm so late."

"Really? Dressed like this?"

"We had to change for the event and I..I lost my clothes since there were many of us at the event, luckily my friend lent me this." Anxi explained, showing the Jacket to the old lady who was still quite suspicious.

"Are you sure??"

"Yes grandmother, it's been a hectic day and I unfortunately lost my clothing."

"You've always been careless Anxi, don't go losing your clothes like that, what if your colleagues weren't around to help you out?" She worriedly queried the young lady which was something Anxi found new.

"Go dress up in something more appropriate and come downstairs for dessert."

Anxi was in need of this escape and was super glad the old lady made it easier for her.

"Of course." With a smile, she headed up the stairs. Due to Anxi's previous memories, it was easy for her to locate her room and she walked in with no hesitation only to fall flat on the bed.

Her room was barely spacious, there was nothing fancy that aided the structure of her room but she liked the simplicity. Resting on the bed, her eyes absentmindedly focused on the ceiling. The memories of previous Anxi clouded her brain which gave her a splitting headache. All this felt too real to be some kind of dream and it was actually saddening that the owner of this body lost her life all thanks to the greedy people in that company.

Gosh and she thought her family were cruel enough to sell her off. This world really is a cruel place to live in, the weak aren't bound to survive in such a hazardous world and that's exactly what led to their death. Since she was given a second chance, she won't make the same mistake of falling victim to anyone else again.

The masked stranger from earlier suddenly crossed her mind, just thinking about that night and his lips on her skin made her shiver compulsively. She closed her eyes tight to fight it off, but he really didn't seem that bad to be honest and his body structure was well proportioned and attractively lean.

"Seal your mind Anxi, you have nothing to do with him." She reminded herself, he let her go and she was grateful for that but hopefully she doesn't cross paths with him ever again else it would be quite embarrassing for her.

In the meantime, she was going to quit that job and figure out her next plan of action.
