"Hey, why are you ignoring my gaze" Alixies stuttered, bugging him either side he turned but he just kept mute. After realizing Alixies wasn't gonna give up anytime soon he gave in, turning to face her fixed gaze on him.
She giggled with a puppy face. "Please– just this once" She pleaded. Rubin instinctively let out an inaudible sigh.
"Sorry, Alixi, you can't talk to her now"He announced and Alixies' face dropped. "Why?– Just for a brief moment, I won't bother you afterwards. " She cried.
"I mean she's not here, Alixi– I just can't find her anywhere" Rubin mumbled with a nervous gaze.
"What do you mean by that, Rubin?" She stuttered. "Thought you said she's always being with you?"
"Yes, I know I did but I don't know what happened– She just disappeared from the room since yesterday and I can't find her anywhere" He wrung his hands with a furrowed brow. "I'm basically restless now; I don't know what to do now– What do you think I have to do, Alixi? Do you have in mind where she could go which I don't know?"
He asked but she just stared with narrow eyes and a raised eyebrow. Rubin waggled his brow in a quizzical way. "What's that look– Why are you looking at me like that?"
Alixies clicked her tongue as she exhaled, leaning a little closer which made him instinctively leaned back from her.
"That look in your eyes– Are you in love with Laura?"She asked. Rubin froze and stared with wide eyes and a raised eyebrow for a moment at her words. Alixies kept her expectant gaze on him– He sheepishly chuckled with a tight lipped smile and pushed her away from his face as he sat erect, avoiding her eye contact.
" Sit back , Alixi– you're sending out wrong impression" He stuttered as he looked away from her.
She swiftly lurked across the class and back at him with a slight close-lipped smile and a slightly tucked chin.
"Don't try to change the topic, boy– no one is looking here" She whispered and inched forward with a flash brow. "Now, tell me , what those love stricken eyes is all about–No need to be shy about it"
He instinctively stuffed her mouth with the sandwich in his hands; the moment those words escaped her lips. "Go ahead, eat this and stop spilling rubbish" He howled which made her wince with a flash face. Her eyes squinted as those blabbing words didn't make any sense because her mouth was already full with the sandwich. He chuckled at her.
Alixies rolled her eyes, about to speak as she digested the food when their teacher walked in.
"Get seated, class" She stated and everyone sat alert. Alixies swiftly moved to her desk. She instinctively glared back at him with exasperated sighs and he winked with a smile.
Just then, Ben and his friends walked in. They bobbed their greetings to Mrs Stella and she swiftly waved her permission out to them. They sauntered over to their seats with bowed heads. Rubin's fixed gaze followed every inch they took.
"My instincts are right – Something is not right with those, guys. I must find out" He thought to himself.
"Okay, let's move on with today's lesson" Mrs Stella announced and everyone took out their history books. They all listened with rapt attention as she begun her lessons except Ben, Patrick and Fred who just buried their heads on their desk with etched gazes. Rubin on the other hand, didn't spare the slightest chance of stealing glances at them from time to time.
****************
Mya's car pulled up in front of the phone shop she had visited the last night before. Laura instinctively glanced out of the window with furrowed brow, confused. "Thought she was going to the school– so why did she suddenly stop here?" She wondered in her thoughts. "Does it have something to do with her new phone?" She stuttered, tilting her head in thoughts.
Mya quickly took out the key and sauntered out of the car. Laura followed her while she hurried into the shop. She trod over to the counter with a faint smile.
"Hi, good morning – hope you remember me?" She asked the young man. Laura just stared on with curiosity.
" Yes, miss" He answered. "You were the lady who came the other night with that damaged phone"
"Yeah, you're right –So how far with it?" She stuttered. "Were you able recover the files on it?"
"What files is she talking about?" Laura wondered. Her subconscious mind instinctively clicked in. "Oh, or it had something to do with Ben?–Maybe that's the reason they attacked her" She glanced at Mya in confusion. "What are you up to, Mya?" She cried.
The man shook his head and Mya's face flushed with disappointment. "Sorry, got nothing yet but I'm still working on it" He assured. She slightly inclined her head and jerked it up again– She exhaled, her frustration evident on her face.
"Alright, i'll come back some other time, then– Got to run now"
He bobbed in agreement and she trod off. Laura hopped after her; Mya slammed into her seat with a clench fist and a wide stance. Her chest rose and fell with rapid breath, raged. She instinctively roared as she slammed her fist on the wheel.
"Get hold of yourself, Mya" Laura shouted as if she could hear her. Mya leaned back, her chin jerked up with closed eyes as she drew in a long breath.
"Let's get this done, one at a time, Mya; No need to lose hope just yet– I believe there's another way out."
She encouraged herself.
Laura wasn't pleased of the risk Mya was taking and her involvement in the whole thing. She wanted a way to stop her but every option seem worthless.
"Should I posses her" She thought but instantly shrugged it off. "No, that won't work out– The last time almost got her killed" She snapped out of her miserable thought. "Maybe I should just get Rubin to resolve this"
She sighed. Mya threaded a hand through her hair and straightened her back as she sat erect. With a relaxed gaze, she drove off towards the school.
