As they returned home, Aeris overheard some women whispering to each other about Drusilla. She shot them a glare, and the women quickly looked away. Locking the door shut, Naomi stared at Drusilla.
"We need to discuss what happened back there," Naomi said, facing her daughter with a stern look.
"People have been talking about her," Aeris said.
Drusilla knew a time like this would come. Naomi had tried to use spells to hide her magic, but it didn't work as her magic somehow found its way out. It felt like a fire burning inside her, waiting for the moment to explode.
"Using your magic to help people won't work, Dilly," Naomi said. "If the Lycans find out about this, they'll take you from me, and I don't want that."
"I have been doing this for a few months now, and they haven't said anything to the Lycans," Drusilla said. "I cannot look away from someone who is sick."
