It's the morning of a work day. Devin woke up later than usual and noticed the position of him and Emmy. Instead of waking her up, he kept admiring her and wished for the time to stop. Without his knowledge, a rare warm smile appeared on his face as he gently cared for Emmy's face. "How I wish you were mine," he thought.
Emmy was sleeping soundly in Devin's embrace and he willingly allowed her to use him as a bed, but it was destined that this sweet moment wouldn't last long.
James opened the door carelessly and witnessed the scene, his mouth was wide open in shock.
Due to the sudden brightness, Emmy woke up and rubbed her eyes. "The night is quite long," she murmured.
"Of course it would be long," Devin's voice sounded right in her ear loud and clear.
An alarm bell rang in Emmy's head and she jolted awake, realizing their position. She quickly pushed him away and held her collar tightly. "What do you think you're doing?" she asked.
"Shouldn't that question belong to me? What on earth did you give me yesterday?" Devin sounded annoyed.
Emmy frowned and looked around. "Don't tell me I slept here with him! Gosh, what on earth happened yesterday?" she thought to herself, trying to recall yesterday's incident but she couldn't .
"You... you both... in the living room? Is this real?" James was still in shock.
"Mr. White and Black, please don't misunderstand this. This is really unreasonable," Emmy stood up instantly.
James's mouth opened wider as he pointed at himself. "Mr. White and Black? Why on earth did you give me that name?" he asked.
"Oh, last time I saw you, you were wearing white and black colored clothes, the same thing today," Emmy explained.
"Like seriously!" James didn't know whether to laugh or cry. "Seems like I will have to adjust the colour of my dresses". He thought to himself.
"It's still early, I will go and make breakfast," Emmy tried to run away but James's next words stopped her.
"Breakfast at 1:47?" he smiled mockingly.
Emmy was shocked. "Excuse me? Are you kidding me?" she asked, puzzled.
"He is definitely kidding me, how is it possible that I slept this long," she thought to herself.
James slapped his forehead playfully. "Check the wall clock, woman."
Emmy checked the wall clock and her jaw dropped. She didn't even know what she would do.
Devin sat on the ground with one leg up and his left hand rested on it. "What on earth are you doing here?" Devin was already annoyed by James's unexpected appearance, which cut his sweet moment with Emmy short. His anger increased with his interaction with Emmy.
Noticing that James wasn't focused on her anymore, Emmy silently slipped away.
"Wow, bro, you are late to the office and I'm here to fetch you. Who would have expected that you would be enjoying your day with your maid," James emphasized the word "enjoy" meaningfully.
If Emmy were here, she would definitely want to strangle James to death because of his statement.
Devin gave James a killer gaze and stood up. Without any words, he went upstairs.
In the kitchen, Emmy was slapping her forehead lightly with a small pot, scolding herself. "Today should be the first day of my children in school yet I woke up late. What exactly happened last night?" She put the pot in her hand on the cooker and lit it. She walked out of the kitchen only to find Devin prepared for work.
"No need for food?" she asked.
"No need, I will buy something to eat," Devin replied.
"That's great. I can go and get my children ready," Emmy thought to herself. "You should buy what you are eating tonight as well, I want to go and see my boyfriend," said Emmy.
Devin stared at Emmy deeply and Emmy's heart skipped. "What was with that gaze?" she wondered.
On the other side, James looked at both of them and sighed. "You are not performing the duty of a maid at all, and you are not behaving like one," he said to Emmy.
Emmy remained silent. Indeed, she was living like a boss instead of a maid. She even told him to buy himself what he wants to eat and scolded him sometimes. Yet he was not displeased with her. Thinking about this, she frowned.
"James!" Devin glared at James with a warning gaze, and he was about to say something to Emmy when Emmy's voice sounded.
"You are right, I am not behaving like a maid nor am I really doing the maid work so I will just take this as me staying here so that the boss won't think that I am planning on running away with his money, and of course I will continue to cook for him. When I gather enough money in the future, I will pay him back," Emmy replied. And without waiting for Devin's reply, she went to the kitchen, switched the cooker off and went to her room.
After Emmy left, Devin shot James a killer gaze.
"Sorry, I just want her to behave properly, I didn't expect this result as well," James admitted his mistake.
"Did I tell you that she is my maid or did you see me treat her like one?" Devin said angrily.
"Alright, I admit my mistake," James sighed. "Pardon me this time, there won't be a next time," he pleaded.
Devin did not reply and cast a glance in Emmy's room direction before he left.

Inside Emmy's room, Emmy was staring at her reflection in the mirror, lost in thought. "Why do I always feel carefree around him? Why do I have strange feelings whenever I am around him?" Emmy thought to herself.
Inside Emmy's stomach, Cat who was just awake yawned boringly.
"Why did you drug Mother as well yesterday?" Butterfly asked angrily.
"She touched him; how is it now my business? I am feeling sleepy, and I don't want any noise, so I made him fall asleep in hope that after he is asleep Mom would be left alone. Who would have thought that she would touch him?" Cat yawned lazily.
Butterfly's expression is unreadable, but she remained silent.
"Tsk, she is having complicated feelings now. I can wipe them away and make her mood better. Can that make up for my mistake?" Cat asked.
"That's more like it," Butterfly replied as she flew somewhere.
Cat yawned again and stretched her paw out. Faint green-colored smoke escaped from her paw, turning all the insides green. She yawned once more and then fell asleep.
Emmy suddenly felt her mood lighten and smiled at her reflection in the mirror. "It doesn't matter; I should go find my children first," she thought to herself before heading to the bathroom to freshen up.
