Days passed, and Elora was still finding it hard to convince her mother into forgiving her also with the help of Alice, her mother was bitter about her action. Elora would sometimes stay in her room all day, thinking about how to make her mother forgive and at the same time, thinking about Marvin who has refused to call or even check on her. meanwhile, Marvin on the other hand pushes everyone away, he refuses to answer his parent's calls or even talk to anyone, and he sometimes spends all his day in his room and also at the poolside, everyone is sad that he is sad.

"I hate to see him like this, he looks heartbroken". Nanny said staring at him from the balcony also with Kevin.

" yeah, what do we do, I can assure you that what is thinking about now is Elora". Kevin said

"yeah, speaking of Elora, I wonder how she is doing, I hope her mom is no longer angry with her".

" Me too, nanny, let me talk to him". he left to meet Marvin at the poolside." hey bro" he called and sat next to him" is cool out here." he sigh and turn to Marvin who was busy with his phone, he takes a beep and notices he was checking on Elora's photos on his phone. "if you do miss her, you should call her, I know she misses you too, you can't stay mad at her forever, she only did what was right". he said convincingly.

" I am so confused right now, I don't know if I should be mad at her or be happy about what she did". he said with a sigh.

"She did nothing wrong and you know it, she only accepts the job because she wants to change you into a better person which she did if I were you I will be so appreciative, go and talk to her or don't you miss her?".

" I do, I miss her a lot, I miss her laughter, grumpy face, and her bullying". they chuckled.

"Exactly! Go and get her back". Kevin said.

" I will, thank you "

"you are welcome, now get out of this place and bring Elora back to us".

"Okay, " he stood up and left for his room, Kevin smile at nanny who has been looking at them from the balcony and she smile back.

Elora was in her room laying on the bed and was looking sad, suddenly, her cell phone rang, she stares at the caller and her face brightened up as she sat upright on the bed.

"Hello, Marvin". she said calmly and Marvin noticed from the other end that she was sad due to her voice.

" Were you crying?" he asked and roll her head as if he was standing in front of her.

"No".

" How have you been? Is your mom still angry at you?".

"Yes, she won't even talk to me," she said sadly.

"is okay, you don't have to worry about it".

" I miss you, Marvin, you don't know how happy I am now that you called".

"Am sorry I made you worry, and I am sorry if I get angry at you".

" No, is okay, is not your fault, you have every right to be angry".

"yeah, just hold for a minute, I will be right there".

" How do you mean? Are you coming to my house?".

"yes, my driver is driving me to the place, I guess we are almost close".

" how do you know where I stay?"

"Remember your things are still in the house, I went through your stuff and found your house address in your little diary".

" Okay, I can't wait to see you".

"me too, see you in a while". he hung up and Elora sighed. not too long after she heard a car horn and she immediately knew it was Marvin, she rushed down from her room and saw her mother opening the door, revealing Marvin at the doorstep and he was looking like a perfect gentleman. "Good day ma". he greeted politely as he came face to face with Elora's mother.

" Good day, you kinda look familiar". she asked and Elora interrupted her from the step Case

"he is my friend, Mom, he is here to see me ". she said and Dora welcome him in and Elora move to hug him, Dora stare at them and went back to the kitchen to continue her cooking because Alice left for work.

" You look dull, have you been crying?". he asked as he feel her face.

"Not really". She smiled and they sat down holding hands.

" Is your mom still angry with you? Do you want me to talk to her?" he asked.

"I don't know,". she sighs and Dora interrupted from the kitchen.

" Elora, aren't you going to give your friend something to drink?"

"I will mom,". She stood up to get water for him, then Alice enter.

" Am home". she said immediately she steps inside the house and Marvin greeted her. "hey, Marvin right?"

"yes".

" is so good to have you here,".she said smiling and Elora came with a glass of water and gave it to him.

"Welcome aunt". she greeted.

" Thank you". she replied, then Dora came over.

"you are back, how was work today?".

" fine"

"ok, let me check what is on the fire" she left.

"So, any luck, ?". Alice asked quietly to Elora who roll her head.

" How about we just go directly to her and make her forgive Elora". Marvin said.

"Sure, that's a good idea". Alice said and they walk in uniformly to where Dora is.

" Um, aunt". Marvin called and she turns to them surprisedly. "we are here to apologize on behalf of Elora, we are sorry for what she did, even though it kinda feels right because I was the reason she had to do it, so if anyone needs to be punished, it should be me and not her". he said.

" He is right, please forgive her, she is your daughter, and you can't get angry at her forever, can't you see how tiny she has become, please for our sake, let it go". Alice said and Elora ran to hug her mother by the side, sobbing.

"Am sorry Mom, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings, I promise not to do it again". she sniff and Dora let out a deep sigh and then pat her back.

" Is okay dear, you know I can never get mad at you forever, you are my only daughter" she said, and Marvin and Elora smiled. Elora pulls away from her and stares into her eyes.

"Does it mean you have forgiven me?".

" I have forgiven you a long time, you are my princess and I love you so much".

"I love you too Mom". they hug each other tightly.

" Finally". Marvin said and they cheer them up.

"alright everyone, go take a rest, lunch will be ready soon". Dora said as she pull away from her daughter. A few minutes later, they gather around the dining table to have their lunch.

" hmm, this taste delicious ". Marvin complimented.

" Am glad you are enjoying it".Dora said smiling and they continue eating, she was peeping secretly at the two of them as they were smiling and staring at each other. "Elora dear, aren't you going to introduce your friend to us, is he just a friend or what?". she asked and they blushed.

" Aww, they are blushing". Alice tease.

"Mom, this is Marvin Derrick, we both school together, and he is not only my friend but more than a friend to me ". she blushes, and her mother smiles.

" Wow, my daughter does have great taste in choosing a man, he is perfect, congratulations to you two".

"Thank you". they chorus.

" Am happy for you both". Alice said.

"Thank you, aunt".

" come on, enjoy your meal". Dora said and they continue to eat then the doorbell rang. "are you expecting a visitor?". she asked Alice who seems surprised.

" No, but I will see who it is". she stood up and left to open the door, and she went surprised to see who it was. "Mr. Monk?"

"Good day young lady, is Elora in?". he asked smiling faintly at her.

" um, yeah, please come in". she welcomes him in and everyone was shocked to see him.

"Grandfather?". Marvin called surprisedly.

" hey son, I didn't know you are here".

"What are you doing here?". he asked as he move to them.

" Am here to see Elora". he said and turn his gaze to Dora "Mrs. Dickson, hope I am not interrupting the moment,".

" No, not at all, please join us". she said politely.

"No, thank you, I won't be wasting too much of your time, am here to see Elora and also to apologize for everything".

" You don't have to sir". Elora said.

"yes, she is right, I have no grudges against anyone, everything is in the past now". Dora said and he smiled.

" Am happy to hear that". he said and brought out a brown envelope from his suit pocket and gave it to Elora. "that's for you". he said and Elora opened it and was shocked to see it was a cheque for the money he promised to give her.

"What?"

"yes, that's for a job well done, I promise you, remember and I never go back on my promise". he said and Elora gave the mother the cheque and she went surprised.

" I don't think I can accept this sir, I thought you were joking about it".

"Really? I never joke about something like that, you deserve it."

"This is too much, we can't accept it".Dora said

" why not aunt, Elora work hard for it, so she deserves it, one thing about my grandfather, he never takes back what he gives out ". Marvin said smiling.

" just see it as a gift ".

" Thank you, sir". Elora said.

"you are welcome.. anyway I am inviting you all for dinner tomorrow, I hope to see you all there, do have a great day". he left.

" wow, this is amazing, I am so proud of you dear". Alice said.

"Were you that bad that your grandfather had to place this huge amount of money on your head?". Dora asked and they laugh.

" Believe me, if there is another word for bad, he surely is". Elora said.

"of course not, I wasn't that bad," Marvin said trying to defend himself and they laugh.

The next day, they were having dinner, and the whole place was filled with laughter.

"you can't be serious son," Soma said trying to control her laughter.

"You should know your son by now". Mr. Derrick said.

" Am happy it didn't turn out bad". Nanny said.

"But how do you even think of that stupid idea?". Kevin asked.

" I don't think is that bad". Dora said.

"I think it is". Alice said and they laugh.

"That's why he is my grandson". Mr. Monk said.

" Thank you, grandfather". Marvin smile and they went quiet for a while as they continue eating. "Aunt, there is something I will like to ask you".

" Okay, what is it?". Dora asked.

"Er, I was hoping you can allow Elora to leave at my house". he said and everywhere was calm Elora stared at her mother waiting for her response.

" I don't mind at all, as long as it makes my daughter happy". she said and everyone brightens up their face.

"Mom?" she asked happily.

"Yes dear, I know you love it in there.

"So, dear cousin brother, when are you going back to the state, isn't your holiday over". Marvin said trying to annoy Kevin.

" Are you trying to get rid of me, you don't need to stress yourself, I will be leaving this weekend ".kevin said

" Really? So soon?" Elora asked.

"yes, my summer break is over".

" aww, am going to miss you," she said

"Thank you, I guess you are the only one who will, unlike some people," he said, and Marvin laughed.

"Don't be silly bro, of course, I will miss you, and I won't lie, I enjoy your company". he said and Kevin smile

" Thanks, bro". he said.

"Actually, we are all going to miss you". nanny said.

" Me too". they smile and continue eating. Some minutes later, they were still seating in the dining chatting and diluting their meal with orange juice when Elora came over with a bowl covered and place it in front of Marvin, everyone wonders what is it.

"What is this?" Marvin asked.

"is a special dessert for you, please everyone should push back ". she said

" Wow, I can't wait to see what you got me".

"Sure". she replied and push back a little. " You can open it now". she orders and Marvin was so excited, he opened the bowl and there was a blast, and the noodles on the bowl pour onto his body, everyone gaps expect Elora who burst into a roar of laughter, soon the rest join in the laughter.

"gotcha!" she said.

"This is so funny". Kevin said and they continue laughing.

" Elora!"

"That's for making me work for you for a week, you think I will forget about it". she laughs and Marvin picks up the bowl.

" Well, you won't get away with this, ". he said Elora ran away and he chased after her, while the rest continue laughing.

" Those two are hilarious".Nanny said and the whole room was full of laughter
