Ella Smith

“What made you decide to grow up? You are tired of what life has given to you?” Darifa asks with a bit of sacarsm. “You have been so naive.” "Naive," Ella shook her head dejected after another disappointment. She had been on the run for as long as she could remember, not sure of what chased after her. Sometimes she feels that the first thirteen years of her life was a dream, a house to call her own, family, wealth, and influence all disappeared like they never existed. “I am tired of running, it is time to go back and get answers,"She nods. “I have decided to give life what it has given to me too.” “How do you intend on paying back?” Asma asks out of curiosity. “I will pay back in tenfolds, be it pain or happiness. I will pay it back in the folds.”

WELCOME TO INDIA

Miss Smith sits on the plane with her fists clinched tightly. It's been ten years since she last boarded one now, that was when she was leaving Nigeria for Burundi. Ever since then, she didn't even think of boarding another, since she hadn't traveled far distance in the mean time. She closes her eyes and hopes everything goes well just as they had planned.

Thankfully, they landed peacefully in the beautiful country of India. The airport filled with different sort of people, it is incredibly noisy in there.

"Welcome to India." The team leader says to her team mates as she led them to a limousine, which is meant to transport them to the hotel.

"Wow! Our team leader is so wonderful and amazing!" Asma exclaims on sight of the ride.

"This is dope!" Shamim admires the car too .

"Let's get in, we need to rest because we have long days ahead of us." Darifa whispers ignoring the accolades given to her.

They all load their luggages and sit very comfortably in their huge and luxurious ride.

"It's so comfortable in here." Abdullah says sounding tired and places his head on Ella's shoulder. "It's so warm and nice here too." He whispers before closing his eyes for a nap.

In a matter of minutes, they arrive at the prestigious hotel. The five of them stand outside and stares at the building for a while holding their bags.

"It's huge! I must say!" Shamim confesses.

Inside the hotel, is even more marvelous than the outside, most especially where the team leader had arranged for the rest of her team mates to stay during their 'truth uncovering time' in India.

"I made reservations for an apartment instead, we all can't stay in a room, and you know we have to stay together at a crucial time like this." Darifa says and drops her bag on the couch. Her eyes travels round the arranged sitting room In the apartment she had the reserved. "She pulls out the box from her bag pack and carefully picks out a small technological device. She moves around with it, placing it very close to the walls, pictures and flower vases, she did it in a way that looked as if she was searching for signal on her phone. Afterwards, she disappears into one of the rooms.

"Waht do you think she is doing?" Asma asks seeming confused for the first time the so called 'team' was made.

"I think she is trying to look for hidden cameras." Shamim replies sounding not too sure. "You know, we never can say, anything might happen and we can't take any risk."

"She was so prepared for this, it's like she is happy doing this after all." Abdullah says with smiles.

"I never knew she was this smart and intelligent." Ella adds. "But where did she manage to get those things from?"

Darifa walls back into the sitting room with the device still with her. "We are cleared, no hidden cameras anywhere."

"They wouldn't dare do such here. After demanding such amount of money?" Asma remarks with a scoff.

"I think you should become a detective when we are done with all of this." Miss Smith whispers to her friend sincerely.

Darifa laughs gently and nods. "Yes, i will think about it and put it into consideration." she clears her throat and says asks. "Do you know who is staying in the next apartment?"

"Who is that?" Ella asks.

"Paul and his daughter." she replies and Ella makes a move, as if she wants to go out, Darifa holds her hand tightly and whispers. "Rule number one, do not allow your emotions overrule you."

"Please control yourself." Shamim pleads.

Ella nods and taps her feet gently on the floor, breathing In and out, Darifa slowly releases her hand. "I am just nervous."

"Don't do anything rash, you have to listen to all we say." Darifa warns.

"How many rooms are in this apartment?" Shamim asks.

"Three rooms, one for Abdullah and Ella, one for me and Asma and the last one for you."

Shamim runs to Darifa and holds her hands. "Thank you for giving me a room to myself."

Darifa pulls out her hand and scoffs. "You are thanking me this much I didn't make you share your room with anyone?"

"Of course!" Shame replies with one of his palms on his waist and the other to demonstrate what he is saying. "I bet you don't know happy I am to have a room to myself when the rest of you share one room."

"Whatever!" She waves her hand and moves to another topic. "All we should be thinking of now, is how to get the Devil's Breathe in her blood vessel without causing any alarms."

"So how are we going to do that?" asks Ella.

"We have to just wait for the right time." The team leader sighs heavily. "Let's go downstairs to get some food and use that opportunity to look well around the hotel."
