The wind and rain outside the house continued. The rain came swift and strong. After raining for two hours, the water in the reservoir under the mountain became full. It flowed outward through a drainage canal.

Whoosh! A head popped out of the reservoir, and a body swam up. It was a huge snake. After it came up from the reservoir, it headed up Nanshan Hill and entered the herbal field.

The dog in the kennel heard the sound. It looked up and went back to sleep. The snake went beside the dog and coiled up.

The next morning, the sky was still somewhat gloomy, but the weather seemed to be much cooler all at once. It confirmed the old saying, "After an autumn rain, it'll grow cooler."
