Avery Miller found herself alone, her posture awkward in the blowing wind. Noticing someone watching, she quickly jumped down to the ground without further thought and hurried after him.
"Hey, Mr. Yamada, why did you just walk away like that!" Even if she hadn't wanted him to hold her hand, he didn't have to leave without any warning. It was quite embarrassing to be left standing there alone!
Mr. Yamada continued walking without stopping, though he slightly slowed his pace.
"You're just too slow, and if I delay any longer, the old guard will start criticizing me," Mr. Yamada said, his tone neutral.
