Then, it was Joseph's turn.
Aria, who had been fascinated by Professor Thomas's abilities, especially his bending wind without even moving his fingers, now, for the first time the whole morning, shifted her attention towards a student.
She could tell that Joseph was strong. But how strong, she would find out now.
Professor Thomas and Joseph both took their stance. Oddly enough, the stance seemed the same to Aria, though there were a few variations. Before she had the time to dwell on this, they had begun.
Aria was awed as she watched the fight. Up until now, Professor Thomas had only moved from his spot two times, and that had been just a little twitch, but after fighting with Jacob for a few minutes, he began to move his feet.
Aria watched, as their water clashed and sprayed everyone around. The students moved back a little, but Aria stood rooted, as though mesmerised.
Aria moved her head from side to side to catch the movement of the water, she also sometimes focused on Professor's and Joseph's movements. They were so smooth and clean that both of them could have easily been fighting in hand-to-hand combat.
It was then that it suddenly hit Aria. She had been practicing bending with all her will, and frankly, was rather good at it. But her movements, they were so slow that she would be defeated in a second if the Professor got close to her.
Aria shook her head and decided to think about it after this fight.
While watching the fight, Aria's eyes wandered and her eyes almost bulged out to see that the notebook and the pencil were still in the air.
Now unless Professor Thomas had suspended these both with a thread no one could see, it could be deduced that he was still not using his whole power.
Finally, after quite a bit of time, the match ended by Joseph raising his hands in defeat as a thin blade of water was just inches away from his throat. Professor Thomas smiled as he said, "Good. Very good Joseph. You'll certainly be defeating me very soon. Now, if you are injured anywhere, you could proceed to the recovery ward."
Joseph shook his head, "I'm fine. Not hurt. I'll stay here and watch the fights."
Professor Thomas smiled, "As you wish."
As Joseph walked over to a corner to sit down, his friends flocked towards him.
Professor Thomas stretched his back and said, "Everyone, let's take five minutes to rest. I'm getting too old for all this."
Aria smiled as she walked over to Professor Thomas.
Aria: "Hello Professor."
Thomas: "Oh hello child. You're quite the beauty aren't you. And I absolutely adore the way you're dressed."
Aria was embarrassed as she was suddenly showered with compliments. She said in a small voice, "Well, I just feel comfortable in it."
Thomas: "But of course. I designed separate uniforms so that students could wear whatever they felt comfortable in."
Aria mumbled something in a small voice as Professor Thomas said, "Speak louder child. But first, introduce yourself."
Aria: "Oh I'm sorry. So rude of me. I'm Aria."
Thomas: "So Aria. What did you want to talk about?"
Aria: "Umm.....I wanted to umm....ask about how can.....how you can bend wind without moving your fingers."
