Aria rolled her eyes and turned to Helen. It wasn't her fault that Joseph couldn't answer a perfectly valid question.
Aria's eyes brightened upon seeing Helen's hair decorated with flowers. She wore flowers nearly everyday now, as Stephen brought bouquets almost with that frequency, but Aria didn't really like large flowers in hairs. And today, to Aria's immense happiness, Helen's hair was decorated with wild-flowers. Exactly like the ones Joseph had brought for her, which proved that Joseph was indeed telling the truth, he actually had picked those flowers for Helen.
"I don't know how you do it Aria. I could never let him teach me. He becomes insufferable." Helen muttered. "You know, one time father asked him . . . " Helen stopped as Aria cut her off. "These flowers really do bring out the color of your eyes!" she said.
Helen smiled lovingly and lightly touched her hair. "They must be beautiful. I've already been complimented so many times today." she said. "They are not that special, you always receive a lot of compliments." Joseph muttered and Aria chuckled to see a faint blush on his cheeks.
Jacob, who seemed oblivious to the conversation and had been looking around the room this whole time, muttered, "Are you planning on becoming a florist?"
Joseph laughed upon hearing this, and clamped his mouth shut upon receiving a glare from Aria. She next turned to give an angry stare to Jacob, who shrugged with an it's-true expression. "What are you talking about?" This came from Helen, who had no idea what the comment was about.
Aria shook her head as Jacob quickly explained to Helen about the presence of the flowers in the room. "I wondered why it smelled so much like a florist actually." she mumbled once he finished. "Oh and Aria, what about the flowers Joseph brought? He did bring them to you right?" Helen asked, suddenly remembering she had gave a bouquet to Joseph for Aria.
"He did. It's right here." Aria said, picking up the flowers beside her pillow and handing them to Helen. "It was really thoughtful of both of you." she added.
Helen took them and was lost in thought for a few seconds before she looked up with a light in her eyes that scared Aria. "What?" she asked warily.
Helen flashed a bright smile and said, "You said you had a problem putting flowers from the florist in your hair. The smell is too much right?" "Yeah." Aria was regretting what was about to leave Helen's mouth. And sure enough, Helen had a devilish smile when she next spoke. "But you don't mind wildflowers." she said.
Aria sighed. She looked from Helen, looking very smug with herself, to Jacob, happy to see Aria in a pinch and wondering how she was going to get out of it, to finally Joseph, trying very hard to feign disinterest and staring out the window.
"You guys can continue with your study session. I'll be very quiet. It'll be like I'm not even here." Helen hastily added when Aria took too long to reply. "Fine . . . . " Aria said, trying to make her voice as suffering as possible. That one word was worth it though. Helen's face lit up like a thousand lanterns in the night, and despite his very hard efforts, Joseph let out a relieved smile.
