Give him a good scolding

Joseph said, "Bending does take a toll on the body. Especially during fighting. And she's probably not used to doing it."

David nodded, "Exactly."

Miss Anhao stepped forward as she said, "Now, you all know that Aria is going to be all right. Let her rest. And Professor Thomas, I think you would want to patch these up." She pointed to the various cuts Aria had inflicted on Professor Thomas.

Professor Thomas nodded as he walked out of the room with Miss Anhao. He turned around and said, "Joseph, do me a favour, will you?"

Joseph had wanted to stay with Aria, but he walked over to Professor Thomas.

Professor Thomas said, "Run along and tell Professors Iris and Moon that the fights are to be stopped for today. Ask Professor Moon to head off the students that were to fight me. And ask Professor Iris to come see me."

Joseph nodded and walked away.

He returned after some time with Professor Iris on his heels.

As they entered, Miss Anhao had already patched up Professor Thomas. Professor Iris fixed him with an angry glare before turning towards Joseph. She said, "Joseph, I think it would be best if you would get some rest now."

"I want to stay with Aria." Joseph protested.

Professor Iris pinched her nose before saying, "I think your sister ought to know what happened to Aria. Go tell her. And I'm sure she will need some comforting. You can both come visit Aria first thing in the morning."

Joseph seemed reluctant, but he still exited the recovery ward.

Miss Anhao closed her box as she said, "I suppose you both will want to talk in private. I'll go check up on Aria."

As she passed Professor Iris, she whispered, "Give him a good scolding. From my side too."

Nobody knew what happened in the recovery ward, but Joseph, who had been lurking around the door of the recovery ward, saw a very sad looking Professor Thomas walk out.

And behind him came a seething with anger Professor Iris, who told him to go away, as Aria was still in the emergency ward.

A few hours later....

Aria groggily opened her eyes and blinked several times before she could see properly.

"What happened?" Aria wondered. The last thing she remembered was getting a kick from Professor Thomas and thinking that this was all she could do.

When her eyes adjusted to the darkness, Aria deduced that it was probably already nighttime, by the darkness of the room she was in.

As Aria looked around and recognised the room, she let out a sigh, "It's only the third day and I'm already in the recovery ward. Wow."

Aria thought as her stomach grumbled. She wondered if she could get anything to eat at this time. But the ward was so quiet that she quickly gave up the thought of calling for anyone. Aria saw that there was a jug of water on her bedside. She tried to raise her hand to reach it but winced in pain.

Aria looked at her left shoulder and saw that it was heavily bandaged and even moving it a little hurt. "That's right. I got that awful wound here, and a punch directly from Professor Thomas too. I'm amazed that it's still functional." Aria thought as she poured herself a glass of water with her right hand.
