"Fine! I'll see you before lunch then." he said, and though trying to look like it was a chore, Jacob noticed a little glimmer of happiness in his eyes.
Three of them left for their classes and Joseph was back for the lesson without any further incident taking place. "No queen?" he asked, opening a book and looking around as if Queen Amber might be hiding behind a curtain. "No queen." Aria affirmed with a chuckle.
Joseph's face was completely devoid of emotion as he said, "I'm glad. I don't think I would be able to teach you with her here. I am sure she wouldn't like all the things I'm teaching you wrong." "You're teaching me something wrong?" Aria asked frowning, the queen completely at the back of her mind now.
Joseph shrugged as he picked up a pencil. "I am a very competitive person." was all he said. He smirked upon seeing Aria look dubiously at the book in front of her, and then back at his face. Obviously, he hadn't been teaching Aria anything wrong. But he was glad to fool her for once, and it was good that Aria was worrying over something other than if she was going to be declared the princess of the kingdom.
Alas! Joseph's session wasn't as uneventful as he or Aria might have expected. Only half an hour had passed since they started studying when both of them looked up from a book as they heard sounds outside the recovery ward, and Aria's heart barely had any time to sink before the door of the ward burst open.
Joseph sprang to his feet upon seeing Queen Amber stride in the room. She was closely followed by an apologetic looking Professor Thomas, after whom came a huffing and angry Miss Anhao.
Aria was surprised to see Miss Anhao angry with anyone except for her, and was attempting to sit a little straighter, as she couldn't very well stand up, in honor of the queen. But the Queen seemed to be preoccupied to notice such things as she strode directly towards Aria's bed, and completely ignoring Joseph, spoke to her, "Miss Aria I presume? I need to speak with you."
Aria had enough sense to nod as Professor Thomas spoke, "Of course Amber. I will make sure no one enters the ward." Saying this, he had begun to user Miss Anhao and Joseph out of the room, the latter of which gave Aria a reassuring and encouraging look, when Queen Amber spoke again. "Professor wait! This ward is much too public. I would like it to be somewhere more private." she said.
"But Aria isn't supposed to . . . . . " Miss Anhao began, but her voice trailed off seeing the look Professor Thomas was giving the queen.
"Please Professor. You know how I feel about the recovery ward. And I'm sure Aria wouldn't mind a change of scenery too. She has been cooped up in here for far too long." Queen Amber spoke again, looking rather like a student at the academy that the queen of the water kingdom right now. Professor Thomas sighed and his face took on that indulgent expression Aria had seen him give her far too many times.
And just like that, Aria found herself floating beside the queen of the water kingdom a few minutes later.
