As Aria tried to answer every question thrown at her, Mrs. Scott seemed to think of something as she called the butler that had brought Aria.
"Robert! Quick! Go to the stables!! Tell Mr. Scott Aria has been found. And if he's already left, send out a stable boy after him." she said. Robert nodded and ran away.
Aria made a guilty face as she said, "I'm sorry Mrs. Scott. I've caused so much trouble."
Mrs. Scott shook her head with a tired smile as Mrs. Carl suddenly spoke out, "You shouldn't apologize. I should be the one doing that. I'm so sorry Miss Aria. I should never have talked to you the way I did."
Aria smiled and shook her head, "Don't apologize Mrs. Carl. I fully understand your concerns. And please, call me Aria."
Mrs. Carl also smiled and everything seemed alright.
Aria was led to a chair where Hayden settled comfortably in her arms and closed his eyes with a smile.
Aria's face broke into a warm smile looking at the little sleeping figure before she explained to all the ladies present what she had done when she rushed out of the ballroom. Of course, Aria left out the part about flying up so high that the air thinned and added the fact that Helen had told her she was tired and going to rest.
Aria was just done with her story when Mr. Scott burst in with some gentlemen.
He smiled in relief upon seeing Aria and of course, Aria had to go through her story again.
Aria caught sight of Joseph amidst the group of men, but he wasn't looking at her. He seemed angry.
Aria sighed. It was understandable. She had spoilt his birthday after all.
As Aria finished, Mrs. Scott spoke, "I was quite sure you all would have left. It's a surprise you were still in the grounds."
Mr. Scott massaged his head and spoke, "Thank Joseph for that. His stubborn delayed us." "He wanted to go with us to search for you." he added, looking at Aria, who was feeling more guilty by the second.
The men then left Aria and the ladies alone, who talked for quite some time.
Mrs. Scott spoke finally when Aria stiffled a yawn while she was saying something. "I think we've kept you up for long enough Aria. It has been a long day for you after all. Come on. You should get some rest."
Aria nodded and handed Hayden to Mrs. Carl, who had fallen asleep on her lap.
"You should definitely come visit us sometime Aria. Hayden would love it. I would too." Mrs. Carl said, settling Hayden on her shoulder.
Aria nodded with a smile and came out of the room after saying goodbye to the ladies.
As she walked out, Aria walked a few paces before she turned around with a defeated sigh. "Do you get some kind of pleasure from following me around?" she spoke.
Joseph came out from God knew where and spoke, "Damn it! I'm still not good enough."
Aria rolled her eyes, "You shouldn't be good at following girls around anyway. And Joseph, I'm sorry." Aria added, her smile fading.
Joseph walked upto her and asked, very surprised, "Why are you sorry?"
