Ch-24, Momo

------Momo POV-------

I have been admitted to UA High to pursue studies as a heroine. As a member of Yaoyorozu Clan, I have been educated in all types of studies since childhood except this one.

20% of the humans in this world have a unique ability called quirk. Quirk can be anything; some emit light while some become invisible. But is it a good thing?? No.

Crime rates had increased as criminals took advantage of their new powers and continued to torment common people. The governments around the world couldn't cope up with these unregistered quirk users as mayhem spread around the world.

Then came heroes… costume wearing superheroes who used quirks to save people from villains and use their charisma to motivate other quirk users to fight. This led to the formation of the Hero Association in the world which fully devoted its time to save people from these villains.

Our clan is a major player in the association as we supply all the support equipment required by heroes around the world. This made the clan one of the richest families in the world.

Since childhood, I have been taught to act like a noble as displayed in the animes and mangas. I was sheltered enough by my parents who agreed all my whims in my childhood. This made me unable to have childhood friends as I seldom left my home.

I went to all girls middle school later as my family decided to groom me to be a heir and make me develop social skills. I succeeded in socialising and making various friends and then I saw in the television 3 years ago.

"We have a situation here, as you can see the school bus have overturned and caught fire."

"Earlier, a hero was fighting an A-rank villain which led to a collapse of a building in the area."

"Luckily, the building was evacuated earlier and no victims has been found."

"The villain on the losing end, rushed to the street and took hostage of a school bus."

"Oh my god, the bus is going to explode!!! Someone save those children."

"The fire department is working to subdue the fire. HERO!! A HERO HAS COME and has rushed inside the fire."

"The hero is carrying the children OUT!!"

"It's fine now. Why? Because I am here!"

That day I decided to become a hero.

------------present day---------

'Ace-kun has gone to handle Todoroki-san and I need to defend or capture Kyouka.'

'The emitter bombs are ready… I see a dot rushing towards me.'

I check my radar and see that the two have already begun to fight as temperature began to spike between zero to hundreds.

I conjure a baton and took a combat stance.

'Here she comes.'

Kyoka comes towards me and realises the layer of fire covering the bomb. She stands still and stares at me.

"So we do have to fight it out??"{Kyoka}

"Sorry, Kyoka-chan.. we made a fool proof plan."{Momo}

"OHHHH! Love in first sight??"{Kyoka}

"NOOO!!! He was just flirting!!!"{Momo}

"Boys only flirt with girls they like.. maybe you have started dating?? I feel jealous."{Kyoka}

Something cracks in my mind as I rush towards Kyoka with the sole reason to make her understand that whatever she is thinking, it is just nonsense.

Kyoka sensing my attack, ducks and uses her earphone plug to connect with the ground.

'Oh no, her buds also work as radar.'

She uses her quirk to drop my balance as a tremor hits me through the ground.

One of her buds comes forward to tie my wrists. I recover my balance and quickly stand back.

She then reveals a steel rod and comes into a sword stance.

"Lets do this fair."{Kyoka}

I strike towards her stomach while she parries and proceeds to smack my head. I dodge and she begins to charge another attack.

While I was just stalling for time, Kyoka was trying to capture me. We continued to attack and defend each other for some minutes until Kyoka went full offensive with her earbuds.

Kyoka can somewhat control her earbuds like tentacles and elongate them as a rope. Suddenly we hear something which I think is a floor collapse in the building. Using the distraction, I cover my disatance between her and strike towards her stomach.

She kneels down while her earbuds continue to move around.

"Momo-chan, you could have used less force. Arghh.{Kyoka}

"Sorry, I am new to this."{Momo}

"Momo-chan, are NOT dating Ace-san."{Kyoka}

"NOOOOO!! How many times will I have to tell you??"{Momo}

"Sorry, I was frustrated to see you get a boyfriend before me."{Kyoka}

"I was n-not… wait a minute.. you have Kaminari right???"{Momo}

"He is just a childhood friend and he is lame!!"{Kyoka}

"Ha! Like I will believe that. Most childhood friends end up together."{Momo}

"Nooooo!"{Kyoka}

'Wait, why is she talking ??'

I notice my surroundings and find my legs almost being encircled by her ear buds.

"Got you!!"{Kyoka}

She lifts me up in the air. I quickly take out the sound emitter bomb and throw them towards her.

'Sorry it may hurt.'

A deafening sound is produced as I try to cover my ears. The sound travels through the buildings as tremors as I had not calculated the amount of sound produced.

The earbuds give away as I fall to the ground. Kyoka is knocked unconscious and falls to the ground. The ear buds retract to their original position and a siren occurrs , ending the match.

I go to the lobby and find Ace and Shoto talking to each other. Recovery Girl came by and performed healing to Kyoka and rebuked me for using the bombs. While I was saying sorry, I saw Ace still looking towards me.

In the past, many people from other clans pushed their children forward in annual events of Yaoyorozu clan to make a connection. Every time I attended these 'gatherings', I only saw boys looking me with lust or means to get the clan's money.

Ace was somewhat different…
