“He didn’t even kiss me back,” I said in frustration. “I tried to put my tongue in his mouth and he clamped his lips shut. I totally licked him.”
“Oh my God, is he gay?” Becca said with a laugh.
I forced a laugh as well. “Yeah, what’s wrong with him? Or what’s wrong with me?”
“I don’t think anything is wrong with you. You just picked the shyest guy in the world. Maybe he’ll loosen up after this. Or maybe…”
“Maybe what?”
“Guess who asked if you were single the other day?”
“Uh, who?”
“Geno! You know, from the coffee shop? I think he likes you. He doesn’t seem as backward as Mark. Maybe you should try him. He sat by me for a second while you guys were playing and asked about you.”
Hope filled my body at this. “Yeah, maybe I’m just with the wrong guy. How do I break up with Mark without a lot of drama?”
Becca laughed. “I don’t know, but good luck.”
