In a grand and luxurious looking hall, a man was seated on the throne located at the farthest end of the hall. The strands of his grey hair were sticking to his face because of his sweat, he faced the ground resting his head on his palm. A sudden bang from the big double door made him raise his head as a frown settled on his face seeing the person who had dared to disrupt his lone time.
"I am sure I told the guards not to let anyone...
"Oh really!!, what the hell is going on right now, you don't even treat her like your own daughter. She went missing for some months and... who knows she might have ran away because of the way you treat her as if she isn't your own. You heard what the physician said right?, she lost her memory and thank God she is regaining them back and instead of giving her some time, staying with her for some time and showing some fatherly affections you are marrying her off for the sake off..."Venting his anger out while raising his voice at his father, the king, Edward trailed off realizing what he was about to say. Seconds passed by in silence with neither of the them talking until the king's weak voice broke the silence.
"Say it" said the king sounding sober.
"Say what"
"For the sake of what"
"See, Father. I understand why you are doing all these but don't you think it's a bit too soon, I mean she just came back after we have been searching for her and she isn't a bit well" Edward said with a pleading look on his face.
"It's an order from the Royal council, even the empire...
"I know, I know all that. But why must it be her, there are other princesses from other kingdom"
"Because she was chosen by them"
"Chosen!!, by them. Chosen my foot" Edward scoffed and the king sighed.
"Father, she is your daughter. You have every right to chose between what will be right or wrong for her" Edward said lowering his voice this time but the king stood up from the throne, suddenly banging his hand in a fist on the throne's armrest.
"Enough!!" the king roared.
"Is this the happiness you promised your deceased wife to grant your daughter. And she is not just getting married to a normal being, a werewolf, you can't imagine what they would do to her once she steps into that hell they call empire. One that we all know... see I think you should call off this wedding and then we will figure something out." Edward pleaded as he watched the king walk to him. He stopped right in front of him and placed his palm on his cheek. The King loved his daughter as much as he love her mother, but he was married to a princess when he was crowned a king which is Edward's mother, but he still married the woman he loved. His family was the one others will point out to be outstanding because of the love even though he married two women, but when the woman he loved died he started avoiding his daughter because she always reminded him of his beloved wife.
"My son, I understand what you are trying to tell me, and... I love my daughter so much. I would be willing to do anything to make her happy but this one is what I can't do, it might even cost her life if I try to do anything to stop this from happening."
"Hm, indeed Father" Edward muttered sarcastically.
"You know we are the lowest ranked kingdom, that's why they brought this offer knowing we can't turn them down as they are powerful than us, way too powerful that I can't go against them. And you also know that if we don't..."
The king was cut off by a knock on the door.
A guard came in and bowed before them before delivering his message.
"Pardon me my king, your highness. They are here already" The guard said still bowing.
"Who is here already?" asked Edward frowning
"The w-were w-werewolf prince and his other... people, they've passed the gates and they are in the palace already, milord" The guard was even shaking, not because of the king and his son but because of the arrival of the 'aliens'.
"What!, they are here already. Pfft haha, why not, like a wolf eager to get his hands on his prey" Edward said fuming in anger.
The king patted his son's shoulder,
"I just hope for her forgiveness from your stepsister"
"Sister" he corrected, and with that the king left with the guard, leaving him alone in the throne hall.
"If a single strand of hair should fall from my sister's head, I swear I won't spare that damned werewolf prince." Edward said before walking out of the hall.
