CHAPTER - XXXVII

Some time later a part of the ship could be seen as the hangar opened and Tony was standing there with his new space travel armor on.

Jarvis: "All systems are go sir."

Jarvis: "But I must warn you that a big storm has just entered your flight path."

Tony : "That makes it better buddy, tell Theo to teleport me as close to the storm as possible, that won't change our plans we'll use the storm so George can't find us" Stark said implying he wouldn't take no for an answer.

"Well, we don't have to wait any longer" Tony whispered to himself, but when he was about to fly Kamala spoke to him.

Kamala : "Tony load some music to cheer up."

"Oh no, no Katy Perry girl" worried Tony thinking that she chose the music.

Kamala : "Don't worry it's not mine it's Derek's. Good luck!" explained Kamala causing Tony to sigh in relief and then bend his legs as if to jump as he mentally counted (3-2-1) starting his engines.

As Tony began to fly the music started to play 'Flight of Icarus' by Iron Maiden! And before he exited the hatch a purple portal formed swallowing him up to in less than a second another portal formed near the storm they spoke of earlier.

"Uuuuuuuh! Yes! "Tony shouted and as if the music was synchronized with the storm lightning and thunder were heard along with the sound of the Guitar and Drums, for his part Tony was following the marks that JARVIS was showing him on the screen managing to dodge the lightning thanks to his intelligent assistant.

From left to right sometimes narrowly dodging a lightning bolt, The higher he climbed the more the visual navigation systems began to fail.

So Jarvis had to tell him in which direction to dodge which lasted for a few minutes until the armor began to heat up, here was where the runes that Derek applied in the armor gave its usefulness along with the cooling system in this making the minutes seem like hours until finally Tony managed to see the satellite, realizing that he made it, he left the Planet Earth.

"Phew I made it haha I made it guys" Tony shouted being heard by everyone in the Chimera who shouted in happiness, but Tony didn't see that he was approaching one of the satellite's solar panels and by the time he realized it was too late and he crashed into it.

"There's sh..."

Boom!

Crash!

Destroying the solar panel by his collision Tony was left spinning in space a little disoriented by the crash, until he stabilized and used the zero gravity thrusters arriving at a hatch of the satellite, struggling to open it until he opened it and closed it quickly stopping floating dropping to his feet by returning to a stable gravity.

"Perfect landing" he said to himself opening a door and looking for clues, arriving at an AIM monitor beginning to key it looking for clues.

"This doesn't make sense" tony said looking at the images and doubting what he was seeing, as the images were of Tarleton which showed how his mutation affected him negatively increasing his brain growth.

And in another folder it showed how Monica's regenerative formula keeps him alive

Tony : "This explains Tarleton's big head although the regenerative formula helps him, it only postpones the worst"

He continued checking he found where the formula comes from

Tony : "It is here, it is possible that this formula comes from a poor Inhuman, so let's find where it is here" and with a few keystrokes one of the doors opened indicating where he had to go.

"All right to rescue the inhuman, no more regenerative formula, no more adaptoids and everyone celebrate" he said as he went where the map guided him, arriving at an automatic double door which opened and he had to start floating upwards where the map indicated

In a few minutes he arrived where he had to use Jarvis who hacked the security opening the entrance without alerting anyone and avoiding the cameras thanks to Derek's runes, in some occasions he had to float using his thrusters being what he wanted the most since the suit was running out of energy because of the trip he made to get there.

"Phew finally, there it is" Tony approached that monitor finding what he wanted, the source of the regenerative formula, accessing the functions the first thing he did was to open the security door where the victim was locked, when the door opened the first thing Tony felt was a great cold, when he looked well he realized that they had the room with the lowest possible temperature and in the center a large security sphere suspended.

(Why so much security for an inhuman, it's as if they never wanted to find him) thought Tony as he approached the sphere which surprised him when it fell and began to open.

He reflexively raised his hands pointing at it "Oh no, that's not disturbing", seconds passed and the sphere opened revealing a man in his thirties held by machines that extracted his blood, but when Tony saw who it was he was speechless.

"My God! Cap!" he ran to Cap and began to detach him from the machines.

'Please be alive buddy' thought Tony.

After freeing him he grabbed him and pulled him out of the room, laying him on the floor.

Tony : "Jarvis scan his vitals and look for damage."

Jarvis: "Roger that sir."

Jarvis: "There is no abnormality in the subject sir."

Jarvis said, Tony sighed in relief and started moving Cap and tapping his cheeks trying to get him to wake up which worked,

Cap ( steve ) : "Tony, wait, where am I?!"

He asked as he sat up but Tony interrupted him by hugging him.

Cap : "Tony, you're hugging me!"

Tony : "It's just, well... we thought that, well I thought that... I'm just glad to see you Cap" Tony admitted pulling away from Steve.

Cap : "I'm really confused."

Tony : "Yeah I understand buddy, but let's get out of here first" he said and helped him up as he helped him walk but Cap stopped him

Cap : "Wait, wait, wait...Tarleton...I survived?"

Tony : "Tarleton? What does that matter buddy?"

Cap : "It's just that the explosion was too close" already understanding what was going on in part Tony replied

Tony : "He survived thanks to you along with Monica if you watch the news" he replied in an unintentionally synical way as he helped Steve walk

Tony : "Look buddy I know you have a lot of questions, but we'll talk about that the main thing is to get out of here and get the information I came for".

"It's ok Tony it's more you can let go of me already I feel better" Cap told him as he sat up starting to walk on his own and getting better with every step he took.

Cap : "Well, what's the plan?"

Tony : "Well Jarvis I want you to forget about me and start looking for the information we need, while me and Cap look for an escape pod to get away."

"Well from the sound of you I'd say you're improvising and Tony where are we?" questioned Cap.

"Ah, well... In space" replied Tony, Cap for his part looked at him in confusion until they passed through a corridor in which you could see Space and Earth from there

Cap ( steve ) : "My God you weren't kidding" replied Steve as he ran along with Tony until they reached a curve and jumped through what would be called a shortcut down a few meters arriving to another section of the satellite.

"How... Long was I there..." asked Cap dreading the answer he would get.

"Ah, well... five years! Although for you, it was just a party" said Tony trying to lighten the mood.

Cap : "Ha... I'm starting to think people want me frozen."

"See buddy, you're already making jokes! Cursis, but that's normal for you!" scoffed Tony but just as they were about to pass a door it closed and a holographic screen appeared and out of it came Monica.

Monica: "Captain Rogers, don't leave so soon."

Tony: "Long time no see, you know I don't think your buddy Tarleton liked the idea of using superhero blood to replace superheroes."

Stark scoffed as he tried to HACK the monitor to open the door.

Monica: "He leaves the details to me. I'm warning you follow my order and stop what you're doing now!"

Tony: "Oh, don't tell me George doesn't know about this, does he?"

Monica: "Nor will he."

Said Monica at last, closing the hologram.

**SELF-DESTRUCT SEQUENCE INITIATED**

It could be heard throughout the ship, meanwhile Tony finally managed to open the port but small explosions could be heard coming from the satellite.

"Come on" indicated Tony and Cap followed him running behind him reaching another door which was also blocked, Stark began to try to unlock it but in that moment a few synthezoids fell from the ceiling.

Cap : "Tony hurry up and open the door!"

Tony : "I'm trying, geez for a dead guy, you're so bossy!" criticized Tony.

As Tony tried to open the door, one of the three Synthzoids, one of them supreme, attacked Cap, who responded by hitting him in the head, but had to roll away because he almost impaled him with his spear.

Cap was incorporated to the floor with force this time hitting the chest of this one turning away by the other synthezoid that came to his back but he used that as a feint to tackle him and move away taking the third synthezoid by the arm using it as a shield resisting the energy shots of the supreme sintezoid's spear

While running towards him hitting against the wall and grabbing the robot's face hitting it against the floor and starting to pull it off him, at the end he grabbed the Synthezoid's spear throwing it hard against the last synthezoid impaling it.

"Steve, come on the hard way, I need you to force that side of the door while I do it up here" Tony said while he was floating and Cap from below making a great effort "I almost made it" until they finally made it, but at that moment more synthezoids appeared wanting to surround them.

"We don't have time for this, so run Cap" ordered Tony propelling himself with his thrusters being followed by Cap but at that moment another warning came from the satellite.

**ATTENTION: GRAVITY GENERATORS FAILURE**

Without further ado, the ship began to flip over, causing Cap to fall into the window of the corridor and crack it.

Tony : "Be careful with the glass Cap, it won't support your weight! So run faster" heeding the Cap ran faster matching Tony's speed while they ran or flew they also made pirouettes dodging the synthezoids that appeared or whatever crossed their path.

Already arriving to the escape capsule Steve had to jump holding acrobatically to the edge of a wall and walk or rather run as if he was a ninja reaching Tony's side who was trying to force the door with his lasers.

"Come on Tony faster" shouted Cap seeing how a hundred robots were coming for them while behind the machines everything was a sea of fire.

Tony : "I could got them alone, I just need more time!"

Hearing this, Steve looked for something he could use as a weapon and found a small grid, pulling it out and holding it as if it were his old shield, grabbing it by the tip and twisting it twice, he threw the improvised shield against the army of synthezoids.

The grid used as a shield went through some of the synthezoids, gaining them time, which Tony took advantage of and managed to open the door and the two of them entered, closing the door in seconds containing the explosion, while they managed to leave in the capsule and Monica's space station exploded while they escaped.

In space you can see how the capsule in which Tony and Steve are flying out of control by the explosion just them holding on to their seats.

"We lost the engines" shouted Stark earning a glare from Steve, for his part Tony raised his arm with effort and pressed the button stabilizing the ship, running out of battery and barely any oxygen.

"Damn" Tony was upset and breathing heavily at this "Well, the good news is that we're not going to burn to death".

Cap : "And the bad."

Tony : "Because we're going to suffocate first"

"Ha, at least we're okay" Cap said looking out at the beautiful space and Tony the same.

"You know Derek would say that this would be our romantic date, hahaha that kid is one of the few that manages to get on my nerves" Tony joked remembering how much he annoyed him the first time he met him.

Cap : "Derek? Who's that Tony?"

"Well he's a very smart kid deciphered my ARK reactor in a few days, plus he's an inhuman with Gen X, who loves to tease me, he's a good kid I even proposed to be his legal guardian when this all gets sorted out" smiled Tony as he talked about Derek.

"Wait Gen X, that's impossible mutants disappeared years ago" exclaimed Steve.

"Yeah I thought so too, but I don't think he's lying, plus Nat is the one who trained and raised him for a few years so I don't think he's lying since Nat would be the first to figure it out and I understand why he hid it enough to have Monica wanting to capture him as her guinea pig for her adaptoids" sighed Tony as he thought of the weight Derek now has on him because of two crazy people.

Steve : "I see, so Nat raised him and trained him for a while that's a surprise."

Tony : "That's right buddy...ha so close, well how are we going to die do you have...one last confession?"

Cap : "Haha you know Tony, your jokes I never get."

Tony : "I know... Why did you wreck the reactor Cap?" at the question Steve looks at him very serious.

"A lot died buddy" Cap looked away before answering.

Steve : "Tony, there was something submerged at the bottom of the bay, whatever was there was somehow connected to the reactor and was trying to emerge."

"That was the earthquake" Tony recalled.

"I had to do something, the San Andreas fault was about to blow. The ocean would have swallowed the city, millions would have died" replied Steve,

Tony smiled at his answer "I never doubted you, I just wanted to hear it" said Tony looking out the other side of his window where he saw a rainbow bridge form in front of them and out of it came Thor in his Asgardian armor.

Thor : "Well what a surprise, everyone was worried about you Stark when we lost communication with you"

Thor : "we feared the worst so I came up with the idea of Heimdall transporting me close to earth to see what happened to you and look at my surprise, not only did I find you but Cap as well, do I always have to save the day?" said Thor smugly making Cap smile.

Steve ( cap ) : "I would expect nothing less from the God of Thunder."

"Nah! let me correct you it's the God of Hammers" said Tony mockingly making Thor think if leaving them stranded here would be a good idea.

Thor : "Haa... you and that kid are very mockable with your pranks... ha... nice to see you again Cap" sighed Thor and started to push them back to earth.
