CHAPTER - XXV

"What did you expect, that's the best you'll get from me" she said still without removing her hand from Derek's shoulder, "Well, you can say we've reached our target, the question is how do we get there, without being noticed?"

"I'll take care of that" without saying more she activated one of the abilities of her suit upgraded five years ago by Tony Stark

Derek clearly felt how a layer of energy covered them, looking at his hand, which had become invisible, (this energy layer reflects light, making us invisible to the human and synthezoid eye, they would only notice us if they have heat detection equipment, it's ingenious).

Knowing that the ability worked on him being in contact, he moved next to Nat, crossing the door, they entered Monica's lab but she was already leaving that section of the lab to another, taking advantage of that they walked stealthily, making as little noise as possible to the monitor of that section of the lab in search of the information of all the Inhumans and Kamala, incidentally get the information of where they plan to take them.

Derek : "Lucy, find a way to interfere with the transfer of the Inhumans, try to get all the information you can along with the location of Inhumans and relatives of our friends."

Lucy: "Understood."

Doing what she did at the beginning Lucy started hacking AIM, in a few minutes all the cells where the Inhumans are that were heading to the planes that AIM had prepared for the transfer stopped and started to return to where they were before without Monica noticing.

Lucy: "Derek I made it, I recommend that we hurry, I managed to bypass the security, but I found an AI not as advanced as Jarvis and I, but it won't take long to discover them, also I inform you that Dante's mother is fine and Theo's brother is being controlled by a chip that Monica installed."

"Thank you, I will keep that in mind, you are a great help" with a smile Derek lifted Lucy up, putting her on his shoulder as he patted her

Natasha : "Great that bought us more time, but at the risk of being noticed, Derek do you have any plans to get the teleporter out of Monica's ranks it is certain we will find it with her if she is as smart as I think she is."

"Lucy you remember you can now create electromagnetic fields, I will need you to tweak them enough to take out the chip installed in her" said Derek, "That way we will eliminate an escape route for Monica."

Lucy: "I can do it, leave it to me."

Derek : "You heard Nat, now we have to deal with Monica and her adaptoids."

"Haa, two years undercover and a Jersey girl and you bring me to the heart of AIM operations" sighed a little irritated Nat

Derek : "Well I'm sorry, but this was never in my plans, if Kamala hadn't gone ahead wanting to rescue the inhumans that are here, I never would have done this, but look on the bright side we have met again haven't we?".

Natasha : "You're right, but you know Monica's not the only one who's not going to like the stunt you pulled, the government is the one funding the creation of the Adaptoids, with the stupid idea of having their own army with controlled powers for them."

"Maybe but with the information I have on how the Adaptoids get powers, I don't think society would accept it if it became public how they achieve it, and for that we would need to ask for a trial in the creation of a law for beings with powers" opined Derek.

"As well as needing a good lawyer" said Nat, but at that a few meters away from them the ground began to lower and form stairs.

Lucy: "You should go, that's where Monica is headed and Kamala is there."

Lucy told them after climbing on Derek's shoulder and becoming invisible again, going down to that section they found many holographic blueprints of syntezoids, drones and adaptoids, "All this screams supervillain lab" Natasha said it in mockery, "Look that's what will take us to where the girl and Monica are going".

"Another computer? " asked Derek

Natasha : "Not just any one, while she was infiltrated here, that's the panel where Monica, writes down all her records, files of the experiments she's done and the location of each cell with inhumans, you said you have a way to find Kamala but not exactly"

Lucy for her part and without being told by Derek copied the Inhuman experimentation files with the dark terrigen that showed videos where Inhumans induced them in lethal quantities without any positive result, except for increasing their powers.

"They're killing them" Derek clenched his fists tightly as he saw that, to then show Monica just working with her adaptoids

Natasha : "She's not even looking for a cure for the inhumans anymore, the dark terrigen is just so the adaptoids can copy their powers, this is just an excuse to steal powers and give them to her twisted adaptoids" Nat hissed in fury as she saw how children from 7 to 9 years old were going through the same thing, Derek was the same as her, but he knows that Nat is the most affected, because her weakness is children.

"Nat let's go" Derek walked over to her

"I already have her location, let's go" he said to leave the panel and go to another section

"Are you ok?" asked Derek

Natasha : "I am, it's not the first time I've seen something like this, let's go".

"Haa, okay" sighed Derek, but at that the whole room closed, the lights changed to red and a wall opened revealing a new synthezoid, it had the appearance of a primitive synthezoid with the exception that this one instead of hands has swords imbued with electricity and on its back an electric generator.

In less than a second Derek's body was covered with absorbing metal, while Natasha had already taken out her pistols aiming at the synthezoid

Derek created a fireball and launched it at the moment the synthezoid moved affecting it, the robot's external armor was melting but not like the other synthezoids

It was as if it was resisting, Nat shot at the robot's head calling the robot's attention, Derek took advantage of that and using Ironbreaker along with Metal Dragon Fist increasing the power pierced the Synthezoid's chest and generator and saved it in the inventory.

*Ironbreaker: It's a powerful blow delivered while tensing the muscles of the arms, hands and feet.

They couldn't say anything because in the next second several portals appeared and from them seven synthezoids appeared, six primitive synthezoids of the plague type and the last one was the same model of the one they defeated, Derek used to observe on them.

*Primitive Synthezoid (Plague)*.

*Description: It is a unit that emits poisonous gas and of the suicide type once it gets close to the target it will explode releasing the poison and damage its target*.

*Riobot Punisher

*It is equipped with charged swords and a defensive field, it can create energy shields, it also fires an electric ring that will follow the target and explode.

(It's because of its defensive field, it's akin to the energy shield that surrounded the ARK reactor cores in the previous base).

Derek : "Nat we must be careful, the robots that have green glows are poisonous, they are not strong but once they are at a certain distance they will explode and release poisonous gas, with the new one we must be careful with its blades, it is surrounded by a defensive cambo, it can create energy shield, and also shoots electric tracking rings"

"I only knew about the first one, I have no idea about the new one, even with all the time I've been here I haven't heard about this one, it seems that Monica still hides a lot of things" said Nat while dodging backwards avoiding being poisoned after the robot exploded

While Derek dodged the Riobot's slashes, two of the pests were approaching him wanting to poison him but that didn't worry him since his body can resist the poisonous gamma energy thanks to his immunity which creates antibodies, so he let them approach and explode but the Riobot didn't stay still and created an electric ring of 6. 000 volts shooting at Derek.

In all that green smoke Derek never stopped looking in the direction of the Riobot, thanks to his thermal vision he could see the accumulation of electricity in the form of a hoop that was heading towards him, in his left hand he created a shield that protruded from his forearm absorbing the attack, but he didn't expect the energy to be so much since the shield was cracking along with his scales, he felt the muscles in his arm contracting because of the electricity in it.

"Shit I got confident, forget that everything has its limit, even if I reinforce it now it won't do anything, I have to release the energy" when he was about to do that the system stopped him.

TING

""I would recommend you to wait for a second user, you will gain something good if you do that.""

"But what..." even with his arm numb he had to dodge another attack, fed up with that he used Phantom Pace making the Riobot think he had gone through it.

Shouting, [ FIRE DRAGON FIST ] , with his fist wrapped in fire pierced the chest of this and without removing his fist imbued more flames to melt it completely and at that moment he received a notification.

TING

""Congratulations you have gained *Electro Resistance* now your body can better resist electric attacks and avoid being paralyzed by such attacks.""

"Ok I think I know why this happened with this element" said Derek creating in his left hand a Kunai and move the electrical energy to that weapon and throw it to one of the plague robots behind Natasha, she seeing that there is only one left shot at its head preventing it from coming closer and used its stingers firing an electric shock causing the Robot to convulse if you could say and explode, knowing that Derek helped her with the other Plague Robot she turned and saw Derek clutching his left arm which had soot on it due to the electricity it had received.

"Derek, let me see it" Natasha steeled herself to him and grabbed the affected arm but it was still covered in scales, she looked directly at him hinting for him to return it to normal

Derek sighed in defeat though he knew it would recover quickly and it was nothing serious that a potion wouldn't cure in a few minutes, he had been overconfident about his metal, that he forgot that said metal has a limit and upon reaching that limit it will break and that stored energy will affect the user, for him it is worse since it is his skin and flesh that is covered in said metal, not to mention that this alloy is not complete and can be improved further.

Returning only that arm to normal, showing an arm with first degree burns, Nat didn't say anything to him she just took out some medical equipment a liquid to treat burns and some bandages which dhe used after applying the liquid, once she finished she just said "You trusted yourself".

"I know it won't happen again," he said still annoyed with himself

Natasha : "It won't happen again?! I know that this metal or alloy you created is incredible but not for you to trust it like that, even the Uru that Thor's hammer is made of has broken, even Cap's shield, so don't give me that, it won't happen again! " she was very upset with the one that happened, but they were interrupted again as a green gas covered the room.

"Cough, cough" to Derek this did nothing but Nat was something else, although her immune system was already working against the poison it would take time.

Lucy: "Derek I scanned this room to your right on that wall there are two energy panels that are powering the gas system, destroy them and the gas will stop coming out"

But two normal primitive synthezoids came out of the same wall that the Riobot came out of, "Take care of the panels I'll take care of those scraps I have to get even with something" said Nat even though she was coughing, it didn't show that she was being poisoned

Derek moved in that direction while listening to the gunshots, he saw the two energy panels that were very similar to solar panels, transforming his right arm into a sword with saw like teeth which spun and imbuing it with flames

He raised his arm and lowered it leaving a clean cut splitting the panel in half, heading to the next one he turned his body and used Entanglement redirecting the blow and grabbing the head of a synthezoid that wanted to take him by surprise and hit the panel with the head of the primitive synthezoid almost destroying it, without letting it go he set his arm on fire melting the head with half of the panel, and the poisonous gas stopped coming out, cleaning his hands of the melted metal he went to Nat, who was already better.

*Entanglement: It is a technique that is a step above Weeping Willow. By altering the trajectory of the opponent's attacks while grabbing them at the same time, the redirected force can be put into additional actions, such as dislocating joints*.

"Are you feeling better?" asked Derek as he saw Nat on one knee and two destroyed synthezoids

"Just give me a few minutes and I will be" she said still with her head down breathing heavily, Derek bought a potion that cures poisoning, and a regeneration potion for himself, "Here, drink it it will take the poison away" he said, she looked at the vial with purple liquid in Derek's hand, "Yes, the purple is for poison and the red is for healing wounds".

"Then you drink it, you are worse than me, wounded and poisoned", Derek denied "No, I'm just wounded, my body changed a lot this year, I was poisoned before and my body created antibodies on that occasion, the same happened now, so drink it, I'll be fine" reluctantly she took it, removing the lid she drank it expecting a horrible taste.

But it wasn't like drinking blackberry juice, instantly she felt her body lighter and not tired, look at Derek and he had already drank his potion, she saw how he already moved his left arm naturally.

Natasha : "Let's go, turning through that door we will find a monitor that controls all the prisoner's cell doors if Kamala is there she will be free along with the other inhumans although I doubt that she is there Monica is not so stupid to leave her just like that in a cell"

"Let's go" he said holding out a hand to help her get up, Natasha looked at him for a few seconds and although she was still upset about the previous thing she accepted the help, although they had not seen each other before they already knew each other, and Derek although he did not know it the memories of the previous one was already taking them as his own that is why Nat did not doubt him, because he behaved like the Derek she knew but with some changes that she attributed to the age that Derek had now.

Five minutes later they arrived at the central monitor of the prison without encountering any obstacles or enemies, it was like an invitation from Monica for them to find her.

"She knows we're here, she's inviting us to go get her" Nat said.

Derek : "If that's what I want then we have to indulge her don't you think?"

"You're absolutely right, you don't know how badly I want to punch that smug face" Nat smiled.

"Then let the escape begin, she still thinks most of the inhumans have been transferred, she has no idea we interfered" said Derek, Nat for her part started typing and opened all the cells, on the screen she watched as hundreds of inhumans came out of their cells and their collars fell off, some jumping, others hugging each other.

"Alright we have freed them and they can use their powers, now we have to go for the big fish, we must use that elevator, and Monica will be there ready to deal with us" she commented

"I will take care of the adaptoids, while you capture Monica she has too much information, while Lucy hides and finds Theo's sister who is the one who creates the portals, Do you agree Natasha" said Derek seriously

Nat wanted to refuse, but she knew that those adaptoids were not like the first adaptoids, if they were the first ones without any power and even a little clumsy she wouldn't hesitate to finish them, but these two were different, faster, more precise, lethal and without counting that they had elemental powers based on fire and ice.

Natasha : "Alright, but you must promise...no swear to me, that you won't let yourself be captured, if you see the situation is terrible you will escape" Derek swore that was the most worried and serious look he had ever been given in his life, inside he felt very happy that she cared about him in that, way.

"I promise if it all goes to hell I'll run away..." Nat smiled at what he said but he wasn't finished.

"But I will make sure to escape with you and Kamala" she was about to claim him but he wrapped her in a hug, "I know that cold shell you created is because you have suffered so much and I understand that, thank you for caring about me, I promise, I know I was stupid a few moments ago, I'm sorry, but trust me yes, after all I was trained by you" Derek whispered to her as he hugged her, still reluctant she hugged him back.

Natasha : "You've gotten good, with words, you little thief"

Derek smiled at that comment, "Well what can I say I've learned a lot over the years" separating they headed to the elevator, going down to where Monica is, Derek ordered Lucy to hook to the roof of the elevator and sneak out while looking for Theo's sister, so she would use the electromagnetic field and they would lose the hold they have on her.

In less than two minutes they arrived at their destination, taking a breath Derek and Nat walked through the door finding Monica with a holographic display waving her hands

Monica : "So the spy was you Natasha, or should I say Tiny Dancer, although that doesn't sound like Black Widow too does it?" she said it with a smirk.

Natasha : "Yeah, I had to reveal myself, and I still got information and stole quite a bit of money from their accounts, I'd say it took you a long time to figure it out, and I thought you were the brains in all this."

(Boom, in your face bitch)

"I wouldn't say she is the mastermind, Tarleton takes that title with all the Law, more as she looks now, she although smart is just a manipulator, with people with a lot of problems like Bruce, but Tarleton also has mental problems, your formula is not perfect Monica" said Derek making Monica raise an eyebrow at the clear mockery.

Monica : "O Nat, you are still so proud even though I am the one with the highest percentage of winning, although I should thank you you brought me the person I wanted" she said the last looking at Derek as if to dissect him with her eyes

Derek : "Where is Kamala, Monica"

"O, I knew I did the right thing in having captured her, don't worry I didn't do anything to her" Monica snapped her fingers and the floor rose a cell for inhumans, inside was Kamala with burns on her hands and arms, some parts of her body were covered in ice, her lips were purple, "Look my dear, your prince came to rescue you" Monica said pointing to Derek

Kamala looked where she was pointed, surprised to recognize Derek even though he had a mask, she recognized him because she had seen the suit before, "Derek, I'm sorry, I was an idiot for not trusting Bruce, you guys, I brought you into this I'm sorry."

"Everything will be fine I will get you out of here, trust me I promise" to say Derek was upset was an understatement, it was the first time in his life he felt so much anger at someone, without being able to see the expression he had because of his mask, it wasn't necessary to know he was angry, from Derek's body steam began to rise, the muscles in his body became more marked and the veins
