CHAPTER - XIII

Once Tony and Derek left Kamala's room, Tony communicated with Bruce.

Tony: "Bruce the girl is fine, there's nothing to worry about she's strong, you know I like her."

Bruce : "Yeah in time you'll grow to like her, and it would be nice if you could come to the lab, I'm almost done with the door."

"Alright, Bruce I'll go with the boy there, besides I need to get some things out that I'm going to need" and with that walk, up stairs for a few minutes until they got to Bruce who was in the same place as the panel that powers the lab, trying to fix it.

"I see you're still at the door Bruce" said Derek sympathetically, as he knows that's not Bruce's forte.

Bruce : "Well it's just that I'm a little rusty, I just have to take the whole junction box off and reconnect the...." But before he could say anything else, the moment he reconnected the wires a few sparks flew out, which scared him a little, but he managed to get the whole lab working and the doors finally opened.

"Well done my friend, see? it's not that hard" Tony said in his joking way.

Tony : "finally this place is coming back to life."

"Come on Stark we have work to do, thanks Bruce" said Derek to Tony, who followed him without further ado since he is anxious to create an armor with the parts of the synthezoids that Derek has in his possession.

'Hopefully while we are making this armor I can convince the kid to use some of the metal that he created' thought Tony.

Once they entered the lab the first thing Tony did was to approach the supercomputer and turn it on and on the screen it showed all the CHIMERA, the new ARC reactor as the new energy source that replaced the terrigen, the only thing that showed that it is still not working or in bad condition, is the training room, and the turbines of the ship, to which Derek paid more attention.

Derek : "Mmm, Tony I think I can not only repair the turbines of your ship, if I'm not wrong I could say I can them even more better if I rely on the designs of the thrusters of your armor and if I use absorbing metal, then CHIMERA will be unstoppable in the air."

Tony : "Are you sure kid?".

Derek : "About 85% but I need to see the plans for your armor's thrusters to make that percentage go higher."

"I see come on we need to go to the top floor of the lab that's where I keep my armor plans" he said to Derek to which he started to follow him and climb the stairs that are from the lab to the next floor.

The first thing Derek saw were four monitors, in which you can see four different types and from what he could see each one is specialized for different things by their designs.

The first one you could say is for deep sea missions, another one specialized only in speed with some weapons in it, the third one specialized for infiltration missions with its camouflage system.

And the last one which is surrounded with warning messages which is not finished yet but before he could see more Tony crossed in the middle of the last monitor.

Tony : "I see you like what you see don't you Derek."

Derek : "I'd be lying if I said I didn't, and from what I could see on each monitor each armor is specialized for different missions or situations, but the last one isn't finished yet is it?"

Tony : "So you noticed, and yes, this baby is still not finished and managed to withstand the pressure of space but it is still very heavy, as for its energy consumption the worst thing is that to find a way to not explode when the energy overloads

Tony : "But that for later, let me take out a pattern chip to take it to the holographic computer and the manufacturing machine to make the delicate parts of the armor while we take care of the rest while we make some improvements to the weapons of this armor, well with that we are ready now if you boy take out those synthezoids".

A few hours later we can see Tony and Derek looking at a hologram of the armor they were about to build, but if someone were to enter the lab they would see what were once supreme armored synthezoids, supreme skilled synthezoid, supreme cryogenic synthezoid, cryogenic synthezoid, two elite synthezoids.

Derek : "Ready Tony, I think I know how we can improve this armor, we can use the shield system of the supreme armored synthezoid so you can use the same type of energy shield on your left arm, with the supreme skilled synthezoid we can use its improved armor which I can melt to take out its impurities and compress it to give you a better defense"

Derek : "As for the supreme cryogenic synthezoid, we can use its cooling system for when you use your max power and it charges faster or when you are flying at maximum speed, as for the cryogenic synthezoid I would suggest creating weapons or freezing grenades with its abilities so you can equip yourself with them."

"And lastly we can use these two elite synthezoids to attach their powerful laser weapons the problem would be that they won't withstand the energy output of your reactor unless you create two miniature ARK reactors on the armor's shoulders and attach them."

Tony : "Your idea, it's a good one kid, The super compressed metal from the armored synthezoid would do the trick but we can reduce the power consumption of the thrusters with the weapons if we use your absorbing metal with the trick you did when rebuilding the two new ARK reactors on the ship."

Derek listened carefully to everything Stark said, but at the last thing Stark said he was a little startled since what he was asking was for him to use the metal he created for his armor.

Tony : "O come on kid you know that your metal is impossible to replicate or use, you are the only person who can create it, and I'm not just going to ask you just like that, tell me what do you think if when this whole AIM thing is over I give you 2% of the shares of Stark Industries and every time I use your metal you will help me when I'm working with it, How about a deal"

Derek still looked at him cautiously, as he knows very well how smart Tony can be but also how paranoid he can be, so he concentrated on his heartbeat trying to find some lie.

Derek : "Although I find it very tempting, you have to remember that I'm an orphan, so I don't have a legal guardian."

"Wow that could be a problem, haa" Tony sighed in frustration.

"And if I become your legal guardian kid, come on don't look at me like that, I like you and you're pretty smart for someone who hasn't been to a school in five or six years" this time, Derek had to admit that what Tony said even in his wildest dream he wouldn't expect him to say something like that.

Derek : "What are you really planning Stark?"

Tony : "If I'm being honest with you then nothing, but I also have to say that I like your way of being so liberal and it's also because of your powers, so tell me, do you accept?"

"I can't give you an answer at the moment, but I will help you with your armor and giving you some absorbing metal for this one, I will give you my answer when this whole thing with AIM is over" and without further ado Derek turned his back on Tony and started casting the armor parts for the outer armor, and the exoskeletons of the rest of the synthezoids apart for the exoskeleton of this new armor to be manufactured.

Five hours later Derek had finished not only casting the synthezoid, he was also finishing the custom made exoskeleton with zero impurities and 50% more compressed for durability and strength as well as being lighter than usual for mobility and agility when fighting, from there followed three more hours in which both Derek nd Tony concentrated fully on installing or adapting the systems and circuits of the synthezoids to the armor, which was not very difficult thanks to Tony's help and without noticing the notification in front of him thanks to being so concentrated, he obtained one of the skills he needed the most.

*ENGINEER: LEVEL 1

When it came to the arm and leg thrusters Tony decided to let him do it on his own and Derek managed to surprise him completely, he had to admit that the way Derek figured out how the thrusters worked was ingenious.

Derek realized that the thrusters use concentrated particles, an elementary particle similar to electrons but with a much denser mass, which could be adjusted to increase their density or decrease it allowing flight or as a physical weapon.

Once he understood how they worked he began to replace the material with his absorbing metal which he configured with runes with the control function, absorb, so that once installed and Jarvis is connected to the armor nd he can control how much energy the armor absorbs, stores and releases, just as he finished with the thrusters and was about to continue with the weapons with their upgrades and the coupling of these Bruce and Kamala arrived which cost him to get Derek out of his enthusiasm for them to eat and although they ate they did not stay for long.

Once they returned Derek began to improve the weapons such as lasers and creation of some like the rockets with the ability to freeze his enemy.

Once finished he left them to Tony to calibrate and install, with that he continued with the external armor to which he eliminated its impurities part by part in addition to compress it as much as he could increasing the defense of this.

On the next day

Tony - "Well kid this armor is no slouch with all the ones I have created before although what took us the longest was to minimize plus the two ARK reactors on each shoulder but I have to say..." but before he could finish Derek interrupted him.

Derek : "It's beautiful."

Tony : "Hey kid that was my moment"

Derek : "Yeah whatever you say old man. Jarvis, Lucy do us a favor recalibrate the armor, also calculate all possible fight scenarios, lastly he wants you to get into the armor and let me know if you can control it as it should be, come on Tony we need to upgrade the ship's turbines."

Tony : "Good, good or yes Jarvis you know my favorite colors so surprise me buddy, wait kid before we start on the turbines what do you say we get some breakfast and some coffee we haven't slept at all, you may be fine for not sleeping for a day but I'm still human despite having this on my chest."

"It's okay, I'm hungry too" and with that they headed to the ship's mess hall, once they entered they were surprised to see that breakfast was already served, only to see Bruce and Kamala come out of the kitchen with coffee and orange juice.

"Wow from what I see you guys have done the shopping, and thanks for the food" Derek said in thanks to them for the breakfast.

"Yeah thanks, it's like this is one big family, Bruce is the Mom who always takes care of everyone" Kamala almost dropped the coffee at what Tony said, as Derek tried to hold back the smile on his face, and with Bruce who has a twitch in his left eye.

Bruce : "Very funny Tony, very funny."

"O come on Bruce you know me, so let's eat before this food gets cold" Tony said no more to start eating, as for Derek the food was not at the level of his own but he had to keep in mind that it was not made with the meat he bought from the system nor with his cooking skill which he already raised to level 3 in these days giving him 25% more speed in his hands as one of its effects when he leveled up.

A few hours later we can see Tony and Derek both had created several pulleys embedded in the CHIMERA which have as rope the metallic web of this, which have the function of supporting the weight of the turbines and store them in their system and then remove them again and begin to convert the turbines into super thrusters based on those of Stark's armor.

Each new thruster took them three hours to improve them and install them in the CHIMERA for when they finished it was four o'clock in the afternoon.

"Well kid it's nice working with you and don't forget what we talked about, I can't wait to sleep" and without further ado Tony left once, once he could no longer see Tony a blue screen appeared notifying him of his successful mission.

"Lucy check the new thrusters on the ship" while she started checking the thrusters Derek started doing the daily mission given to him by the system but this time with the ten ton metal block, a few minutes later Lucy gave him her verdict.

Lucy : "Thrusters are working at 200%."

Derek : "Thanks, tell me how the new armor is coming along."

"So far everything is working perfectly according to Jarvis, you shouldn't try so hard Derek in the programs I've seen on the internet you need to rest and sleep eight hours a day" even though Lucy is only an AI Derek knew it wouldn't be like this forever as she was already starting to demonstrate what he would call soul.

Derek : "I understand Lucy when I'm done I will do as you say, thank you for caring about me."

Lucy : "Understood Derek, I will always be there for you" she said no more and let Derek go about his business.

By the time Derek was done with his routine he just accepted the notification to fulfill the daily mission without checking what he received, to go to his room take a bath and go to sleep.

The next day while Derek was still sleeping in his room he was woken up by Lucy "Derek you have to wake up on time, something came up and they are waiting for you in the hangar" just as he was about to answer he received a notification.
