Xeon Arshfall, Mage Casters

The cabin was thrown into a state of silence, as all of the individuals looked towards Rajen with surprise. Some of them even had their mouths hanging wide open as their jaws almost reached the ground. It could be seen just how much of a surprising thing this was, especially for a no-named youth who didn't appear to be from a famous lineage.

"How could this be right? He's only 17 years old!" An individual said in utter shock.

"I don't believe it! I refuse to accept the notion that an obviously common lineage 17-year-old brat who still wreaks of his mother's milk, is even capable of achieving such levels of force energy! Are you telling me that he is nearly a comparable talent to even the likes of the freakish prince?" The familiar-looking nobleman with his sizeable pointy hat yelled in denial, his eyes glaring at the green-haired youth who was now standing beside the two red-haired individuals.

As the man finished his statement, the spiky-haired pale skin youth who stood by his side in silence gazed towards the green-haired youth's form with a thoughtful expression on his face. His lips curved in a vague smile for an instant before it faded, turning into a frown as he hurriedly covered his mouth and began to do muffled coughs.

A few other individuals from noble lineages couldn't help but curse in denial as well upon hearing the results of the force energy test. However, the examiner did not waste any more time.

He gestured towards the spiky-haired pale-skinned youth who had only now stopped coughing, he then promptly made his way over to the Force Energy Reader. Soon, he arrived before the orb which he placed his hand upon before channel the force energy within his body.

As Rajen saw this youth, he couldn't help but ponder, 'He is truly a strange one, his powers are of two unusual kinds.'

The slouchy looking man feeling the rise of energies within the spiky-haired youth couldn't help but mutter, "Oh? Well, this is an interesting brat... much like that former one."

Phew! The force energy orb glowed brightly as two dark-colored energies illuminated the entire central cabin. One is a strange dark kind of force energy that could swallow all light with other being a dark void like force energy that gave off an intense sensation of space.

The uniformed examiner seeing this scene was once again stunned as his voice trembled when speaking, "This is crazy! An 18 years old with dual uncommon force energies, strength level D++ Class. Qua-Qualified!"

As he said this, the group of individuals looked towards the spiky-haired youth in horror.

"Wha-what?! Where did these freaks come from? How can dare be two such freaks outside of the mainland of the kingdom? Wait, that dark-colored spikey hair and pale skin... could he be?" A nobleman said as he looked at the spiky-haired youth in shock.

As Rajen heard the words of the examiner, his eyes glowed with a strange light, Gust and Reya, who stood close by also looked towards this spiky-haired youth with a hint of surprise in their eyes.

Gust murmured, "I knew it, he is Xeon Arshfall, the child of space and darkness, I honestly didn't think he was planning to join this time around."

Rajen, hearing Gust's words, asked in curiosity, "Is he some kind of famous prodigy in your region?"

As Gust heard Rajen's words and was about to reply, he was cut off by Reya, who spoke excitedly, "He's not just any kind of prodigy! He is the undisputed number one prodigy of the Northern Territory, a rare - Dual Caster!"

"I've always wanted to test my strength against the likes of him!" She said as a bright combative gleam shone within her watery red eyes.

Rajen, hearing this scratched his chin as he replied, "Is that so..." As he said this, he couldn't help but recall the information Master Yoshi had taught him.

Casters, a unique and mysterious branch of mages within the world. They are magicians capable of wielding their elements directly as if it was second nature, thus removing the need for complex spells or chants. For them to display their battle power, they merely need to call the name of their element and will for it to do what they wish.

However, like all things in life, these privileges come at a cost. They are unable to use large destruction magic spells commonly used by authentic mages and can only do small-scale destruction, forcing most of them to walk a path similar to that of close combat professions.

Usually, one would only be capable of being a Single Element Caster, but there are rare cases where individuals are born with a natural affinity for using an extra element. These individuals became classed as Dual Casters, mighty beings that rank at the very peak of Caster Mages.

'I never thought I'd see such a rare class of mage warriors so soon. If things are like this, then the Adventure Trials should prove to be quite exciting,' Rajen thought to himself, as a hint of battle lust rose within his heart.

As Rajen was thinking to himself, Gust, who had remained silent, finally added his own words.

"Xeon is unrivaled, but there is only one downside, whether it was because of his unfathomable gifts, or absurd rare elemental affinities. He was born with a sickness that no one can cure. This very illness limits his potential, greatly hindering him from achieving his true peak," Gust said as a deep look appeared on his face.

"Hmm, I see, then it's truly a pity," Rajen said with a look of regret on his face.

As they continued to discuss amongst themselves, the examiner sent Xeon back to his guardian after he recovered his calm. He then gestured at his fellow examiners to remove the Force Energy Reader from the central cabin as he walked towards the slouchy looking man.

Upon arriving before him, he passed him a piece of paper with a glowing blue insignia. The slouchy looking man having inspected the symbol smiled with a bright smile as he once more walked towards the central platform before clapping his hands together.

Clap! A rippling energy spread out once more, bringing silence to the lively chatter of the individuals gathered, as he saw this change the slouchy man nodded his head contentedly as he spoke, "Great! The first phase of the Pre-Adventurer Exams has now ended! All individuals who were selected will proceed towards the final phase that will begin at the rise of dawn."

"With that said, you may all return to your quarters or visit the passenger's hall, please do make the best of your time to rest and get yourselves together!" As he said this, he reached for a cigar in his pocket and swiped the tip against his knuckles, causing it to light up in flame.

Upon doing this, he then casually wandered away as he puffed out smokes. The remaining examiners looked at him with a hint of displeasure, soon through they left the cabin in an organized manner.

Rajen and the others also left the cabin as they headed towards their quarters, as he walked towards his room, he couldn't help but gaze at the scenery of clouds before his sights. The time was getting close to that of the afternoon, as a vast and seemingly endless horizon was painted with a tint of orange-yellow at the edges of its blue sky.

'I could never get tired of this; this is a scene that even the peak of Mount Jubi cannot compare with…' Rajen thought to himself before he left the cabin and headed towards his quarters.

The airship flew at a constant speed, ensuring the comfort level of all its passengers always. However, while this speed of travel was steady, it did not represent that it was slow.

Swoosh! The airship swiftly cut through a group of clouds that hindered the path. As it tore through the clouds, a massive bird that had remained hidden within the clouds quickly made an appearance.

It was a large white bird that was two times the size of their airship with a patch of black feather around its long neck that made it seem as if it was wearing a type of fluffy coat. It lifted its beak and shrieked, announcing its presence to the world, "Caw!"

A terrifying gale storm formed as it swung its wing violently chasing after the airship that tore through its home.

The captain of the airship Kraze seeing this creature, smiled as he spoke, "A White Feather Condor on this route, they're quite a rare sight these days. Oh well, no time to waste battling it here..."

After clearing his thoughts, Kraze immediately commanded, "All hands increase the throttle by twenty percent!"

"Yes, Captin!" The crew stationed behind magic power terminals responded they placed their hand on top of spheroids that glowed with a strange light. Soon, the socketed compartments around the airship began to shine in a bright blue light that streamed across the runes covering most of the ship's surface.

Phew! Almost instantaneously, the airship burst forwards at a high-speed, quickly soaring towards the distance as it left the angry White Feathered Condor behind in a trail of clouds. Soon, it vanished across the orange-yellowish horizon.
