Volume 7 Beginning of a new life

Sam came to pick Victor and Yuri early in the morning, when he arrived Yuri was fast asleep. Daniel was still confused and processing the whole situation taking place. Holding Yuri in his arms, Sam opened the door of the car for Victor. Victor carefully placed Yuri on the seat, he sat besides him and placed his head on his lap. Victor said, "Turn on the heater." Victor looked at Daniel, extending his hand for a handshake, "Thank you for looking after my Yuri, name your reward and it shall be given to you." Daniel Clenching his fists asked, "Are you the reason Yuri was sad your Highness?" Victor slowly pushed Yuri's hair behind his ear, "I understand your feelings but I promise to take care of Yuri from now on. I will send Sam to pick you up for Yuri's birthday coming up." Sam drove away, Daniel was hurt, angry and confused he wanted Yuri to explain all that was happening. When they arrived at the lounge Nara ran down the stairs to meet Victor, Lord Usagi shouted, "Be careful the stairs are slippery." Nara opened the car and saw Yuri comfortably asleep, Nara kissed him on the forehead, he whispered, "Thank God you are alright, why is he asleep?" Victor lightly laughed, he softly replied, "He had a long night, we should be on our way home now. Grab food for Yuri to eat when he wakes up." Lord Usagi was relieved to see Yuri in good health, he asked, "Why is he asleep?" Victor softly rubbed his cheek, "He has a list of demands that you need to sign up on. He seriously need his job and paid leave." Lord Usagi looked at Yuri, he smiled and responded, "All your demands shall be fulfilled, sleep well…"

Yuri ate Victor's portion of meat on their way to the city, he didn't touch any vegetables. When he arrived at the palace, he saw maids and guards waiting at the entrance on a very cold night. Victor helped Yuri to get down from the car, Gia and Shion had arrived before them. Lord Usagi and his wife Nara were behind Victor and Yuri, everyone bowing down addressed, "Welcome home His Majesty, may your reign live long." Victor held Yuri hand, he whispered in his ear, "Welcome home Yuri." They entered the palace; Yuri knew that it would take a year for him to actually know his way around the palace. Victor took him to his new room; it was decorated with expensive furniture with a large screen television. Yuri wholeheartedly thanked Victor and his family for giving him a special room, the unwanted party quickly left the room for the couple. Yuri looked at Victor, "What are you still doing in my room?" Victor removed his coat, he replied, "We will be sharing this room, I need to be close to you…you might just run away again." Victor expected Yuri to stage a coup, "That's a good idea, I need a personal butler close by. Thank you for supporting me and for being patient." Yuri was amazed to see the walking closet and new set of clothes, watches and jewellery. Dinner had a variety of meat and vegetables, Lord Usagi made a special comfortable chair for Yuri. The table was huge, and everyone sat separately, Victor made an arrangement to sit closer to Yuri. Victor noticed that Yuri loved eating meat, he wouldn't even eat his vegetables, reading through his tablet Victor was worried about Yuri's diet. Nara looked at Yuri, "I am happy you are here Yuri, if you have anything you need feel free to ask me." Lord Usagi drinking his wine said, "You can have your job back, Prince Shion will assist you and take over once your time to give birth arrives. King Nara will assist you with anything you desire." Yuri bowed his head, "Thank you my Lord." Nara saw Victor focused on his tablet, "Yuri is home, shouldn't you pay more attention to him than work?" Victor placed his tablet down, he apologised for being rude. Princess Gia felt jealous and suffocated, "I shall retire to bed, excuse me." Yuri was briefed by Shion about the coming week, he felt guilty for being the reason why Victor cancelled his birthday. Prince Shion said, "Your Majesty, I will send the schedule to your email. Please excuse me." Yuri looked at Shion, "Please call me Yuri, thank you Prince Shion." Shion bowed down, "We are of the same age, you can address me by Shion. Enjoy your evening." Yuri walked in the room and saw Victor sound asleep; he had a long night looking after Yuri. Kissing him on the forehead Yuri whispered, "Goodnight." Being a royalty was new for Yuri, he almost fell off the bed when he saw Rose beside their bed holding a cup of coffee. Yuri felt shy to be bathed and dressed by the maids, the food was too classic. The table etiquette was strict and the meals had timetables to follow up. The palace was all business with no family activities he did back in the day, Nara sneaked in the kitchen to eat junky foods. Mike arrived early in the morning, he set his equipment to check on Yuri and the baby. Victor and his parents were present in the dining room supporting Yuri. Mike after running a couple of tests said, "His Majesty and our little Prince are quite healthy, I urge you to continue watching over them cautiously." Victor accompanied Mike out, he asked, "Doctor, recently Yuri has been consuming a lot of meat and no vegetables." Mike lightly chuckled, he replied, "During the early stages of pregnancy people develop cravings, it is your duty to watch over his health. You have to use a gentle approach to avoid upsetting His Majesty."

When they returned to work all staff, members were happy to see Yuri, they organised a company's dinner as a welcome party for him. Victor called Yuri in the office, handing him a file he said, "I have an evening meeting, I am sorry I can't accompany you to the organised dinner." Yuri deep down was excited to attend the party alone, Victor would scare away the staff. Yuri replied, "That's too bad…enjoy your meeting. Shion has the materials." Victor pointing at the file said, "That's pregnancy class l signed up for you, I personally made sure it was the best. You attend Monday, Friday and weekends, I sent the details to the Human Resources." Yuri sat on the couch and browsed through the details, "Thank you, I can see you are taking being a father seriously." Victor stood from his chair and knelt before Yuri, "Mother was quite excited to accompany you to every session. I am sorry for not going with you." Yuri hit Victor with the file, "Everyone has their limits, I understand you have work. I have to go now, see you at…home." Sam and other bodyguards were assigned to watch over Yuri. On their way to the meeting Shion was ridding in the same car as Yuri. Shion asked, "My Prince can l speak candidly?" Deep in his thought Victor was trying to figure out what Yuri was up to. Shion said, "I remember on your eightieth birthday when we were introduced as your wives you ran away and entered inside a coffee shop. I followed you and saw you drinking coffee whilst admiring a young boy working behind the counter, when I saw the way you looked at that boy, I knew he had taken your heart. I once asked you before if you had an opportunity to live a life freely what would you do?" Smiling whilst starring outside the window Victor replied, "I will build a coffee shop for him to brew coffee for me every day." Shion smiled as he looked at Victor, "His Majesty Yuri was the boy you have been in love with all these years." As they chugged down one beer after another the employees were busy gossiping their bosses. Yuri refused beer, they laughed and braaied meat. Victor called Sam to confirm if Yuri was already home since it was late at night. Victor rushed over to the restaurant with Shion, when they arrived, they saw Yuri in the midst of drunkards laughing. Victor had never seen Yuri laughing so brightly before, one employee looking at Victor said, "Am I took drunk to see the Crown Prince here?" Everyone falling to their knees greeted Victor, Yuri glared at him. Victor wrapped a coat around him, Yuri fuming with anger kept staring at him. Victor said, "My apologies for stealing your colleague." When they arrived at the cars Yuri said, "People will start gossiping around! First the body guards and now you, they have already figured everything." Victor buckled a bickering Yuri, he replied, "How could I go home alone? I really don't mind people knowing you are my fiancée." They arrived home late at night; others had retired to bed. Prince Shion went to his room, Gia was standing behind the shadows watching Yuri and Victor. A maid served dinner for them, Yuri looking for meat asked, "Where is the meat?" Victor had instructed the maids to serve vegetarian meal, Victor dismissed the maid, "Today we eat vegetables only for good health." Yuri pushed away his plate, "I am not really hungry." Victor took a carrot; he almost threw up when he took a bite. Victor said, "A balanced meal is highly recommended for a pregnant woman." Yuri looking at the steamed vegetables replied, "I am a man…" "Well you are pregnant and if you aren't going to eat these vegetables, I will forcefully feed them to you!" Yuri trying to push Victor away exclaimed, "Get that away from me you idiot! I am not eating this!" Victor got scratches on his face when he forced Yuri to eat a whole plate full of vegetable. Victor won the battle but the price was marked all over his face, Lord Usagi ran down to see what was happening, Nara grabbed him not to intervene. Lord Usagi and Nara were dying of laughter witnessing the whole drama.
