With absolutely no hesitation whatsoever, I angrily swung Invictus towards Nniuq's porcelain neck.

The image of her head rolling off her body was firmly planted within my mind. It was so vividly clear that I could physically see that event happening right in front of me.

The unfortunate truth however was something else.

With the flow of time in a state of eternal hate against my existence, it forced everything around me to slow down.

The next few moments passed by with an unnatural slowness.

I watched eagerly as Invictus was about to make contact and spew her life essence everywhere.

This was checkmate. 

With the thoughts of victory already resounding within my mind, I smiled for a single moment when suddenly-
